Trying to decide if I should keep the deck 11 Category V stateroom on the Fantasy, or move to deck 12. The deck plans make it look like deck 12's rooms are larger than deck 11's. Or are my eyes just playing a trick on me? Even the veranda on deck 12 looks larger.

I originally picked deck 11 because I was hoping there wasn't as much movement as deck 12.. Not sure if there really is that much difference in one's perception of movement between deck 11 and deck 12? We have always stayed midship, mid-deck before. I do like some movement, but would prefer to not be tossed out of bed in rough seas! :)

I would think there would be minimal difference in movement from Deck 11 to 12....hardly noticeable..if al all.... I would imagine.

Also if it is the same as the Dream then walking out of your room and into the Concierge lounge was great.

Further to that point, Deck 12 rooms are the ones that are on the same level as the Concierge Lounge.
My family and I are staying in deck 12 rooms on the Fantasy next year. Being near the Concierge Lounge to be able to grab a quick bite for the kids or a coffee and bring it back to the rooms in the morning was part of our rationale. We also liked that the balconies would be less enclosed with glass and also being starboard side (deck 11 rooms are only port side) so that we would be able to watch pirate night fireworks from our rooms with the kids.

Was on deck 12 on the Dream this past July. We had no motion issues and being on the same deck as the lounge was great as well as being able to walk the ship outside on deck 12 as it much less crowded than deck 11.

I hadn't thought about walking out onto deck 12 and it being less crowded than walking onto deck 11, that's an even better reason to book deck 12. I booked one of the cat. V's on deck 12 with the extended balconies, it's on the bump out part of the ship. We also like staying on the starboard side so being able to watch the fireworks from the verandah will be great.

For all the folks who stayed on Deck 12 especially in the cabins on the bump out..did you hear any noise in the early morning from deck 13 above? I was going to book one of the cabins but thought we might get some early morning noise with chair set up etc?

Thanks for your help,
Cheryl

Go for deck 12. You won't near much nose from deck 13, the balconies aren't enclosed, and after deck parties, the elevators aren't nearly as crowded.

How are the verandahs more enclosed on deck 11?

If think there is a picture of the enclosed verandah on the Dream special rooms thread. But I shouldve specified that applies to the cabins on the bump out. (sorry!)

Ok, twist my arm, deck 12 is what I am switching to. Guess you all had me at the "easy to get to concierge lounge for snacks and drinks". :lmao: No need to walk to Vista Cafe anymore for those snacks!:thumbsup2

Does anyone have a picture of what the balcony is like in the bump out Category V rooms? I have been Googling and searching, and I find pictures of rooms, but not the balcony. Just curious as to how big it is, and if I can see to the front and back of the ship from the bump out. Also, if it is bigger, are there more chairs on the balcony, or just two per normal balconies?

Thanks for the help!

The one review I read on here is that there could be room for a lounger but one is not out there. I'll ask about getting another chair out there since there's 3 of us sailing.
I haven't been able to find good pics of the verandahs either and I've searched and look at a bunch of YouTube videos.

Did you also see there's a cappuccino machine in the lounge?

The deck11 verandas are a bit deeper too I believe, even ones not in bump out. On deck 11 you can see better directly down to sea too.
Found this link w/photo of deck 11 not in bump out. It shows how the are a bit more enclosed with the upper glass solarium effect. Scroll to post #317. This is cat T. showing balcony divider open to adjoining cabin, even w/broken glass.

Great pics of the verandah to shore how enclosed it is. I wrote a stateroom report on 11002. We hated the verandah. We had loud neighbors who also smoked on both sides of us for our second cruise. Because the verandah is enclosed, it acts as a megaphone and a greenhouse. So every conversation our neighbors had? They might as well have been screaming in our faces. I have never complained about smoking on verandas before, but there was just no place for the smoke to go. Imagine smoking in an incubator....... If you are sensitive to smoke, the enclosed verandas are absolutely not for you.

Thanks for the pics of the verandah. I'm glad I chose deck 12, that doesn't look very appealing to me.

I agree about the smoking on deck 11. Of all areas to be designated non smoking this should be one, and this is coming from a smoker.
The upper enclosure I suspect would also make it more hot and less windy. This could be both good and bad depending on weather, location, and iteniery.
