Wow so much to catch up on. We must all be getting excited or something

!!
On naps... DD is always up when the sun comes up no matter where we are... East Coast, Europe, Hawaii. So, I found it a blessing that we had an interior stateroom on a couple of our cruises because she'd sleep until we tell her it's time to get up.
Connie,[/B] I'm using my office laptop, no access to photos here, but on FB you can grab one (Kel Fox) or if I can remember, I'll logon from home and shoot you one!
Got your photo up on the website!
Thanks Kristi and Helen for the cake idea for Jazmin's bday. I'll have to put a cake order on my TO DO list, and bring Dollar Tree decor for the room, etc. Maybe bring some to dinner.
I think someone else mentioned it. You can order a birthday celebration package from
DCL. We did this for DD's 7th birthday and there was a cake and birthday decorations up by the time we get to our room on embarkation. You can decorate yourself for less but we opted for the convenience of it being there the first time we walked into the room.
.
Sounds like we have the makings of a real party up on 6. Connie (Travelbee)and I will be just a few doors down from you and MommaFox except I'll be adding 2 rambunctious boys to the mix.
The more the merrier!

We did the dolphins in Cabo on our 2008 cruise. The facility is modern, clean, and very convenient (an easy 5 minute walk from the dock). Another advantage is if it's just the kids going in, you can go for free and watch as opposed to booking a $35 or so (per adult) dolphin "observer" package (basically a bus ride) in PV. It also appeared the dolphins were well cared for at the Cabo facility. One thing to be aware of though is they generally don't let you take your own camera near the pool so you have to buy their photos is you want any. They were expensive, but I must admit they were pretty awesome and you can get them on CD to print multiple copies at home. We're tentatively booked again this time for the Dolphin Kids package for the girls.
I can't speak directly about the PV facility as I've never been, but there are many reports in other threads or other sites. Just search for PV dolphins. PV also has sea lions if that interests you, although from what I saw when I used to work at Sea World, they don't smell very good. Hope that helps.
Ditto on Double Trouble's response. I love the Cabo facility and they took great photos. My only tip is if you can get in the same group as another family, you can share the CD. I can't remember how much it cost but it ended up being around $8 or $9 per photo - which is a lot less than paying for hard copies (something like $25 each).
Travelbee (Connie), I hope you enjoyed the skiing...sounds like fun! Our kids just started lessons this winter so they don't quite have the ski legs for deep powder yet. Maybe the girls can do Wii Ski together in the Lab (when they're not cranking up the "party" or pretending to be Taylor Swift anyway).
Thanks for all your hard work setting up the website and getting us added in. I'll send a PM (once I get 10 posts) or email with our info by Monday.

Thanks for the compliments on the website... really it's mostly just click and drag! I've updated your info (plus MiniCoops & MBoys) on the website.
We're not powder skiers but even packed powder is so much better just after a snow storm! We have the Wii ski, I'd have to dig it for DD to practice so the girls can it play together! DD loves karaoke... may they can meet up at Studio Sea for some sing-a-thon?
Hello,
I am a newbie! I have read through some of this thread but 127 pages is hard to get through.
I am Jill (41) my DH is Phil (45) and our DD Rachel is 8. This is our third
Disney Cruise. We live in Southern California so we are excited that we don't have to pay for flights, parking or even a hotel! My parents are dropping us off at the port.

We are Disney Vacation Club Members and so far it has only cost us $95.00 for the cruise.
Welcome! You're added to our roll call. Check out the website when you have a chance.
http://april-17-2011-mexicanriviera.weebly.com/ You've definitely come to the right place. This group is filled with DD8s! As a matter of fact, the reason I stumbled across the Disboards was because I was trying to find DD (being an only child) a friend to hang out with on one of our cruises.
How about the $300 I am spending to board my dog for 12 nights. Yikes, I think Brennan cost just a tad bit more than that for the cruise. That is where my dolphin excursion money is going to, THE DOG!
Same here... the gal we use charges $20 per visit

so it's $40 a day. We're contemplating at leaving our dog at the groomer (who gives the dogs free reign) but then we'd still need someone to check on the cat...
I'm not entirely new to DCL, but it's been a few years since we've cruised. What is the rush in getting to the ports so early? Am I missing something? Other than the chance of getting an upgrade, what would be the reason to get there at nine or ten? (I should have asked this last week, before purchasing out plane tickets, cuz I bet I AM missing something, and an going to have to change the plane tickets!!!)

There's really no rush. To me, getting there early is important only if you couldn't get your Palo or Spa reservations online and need to do it on Embarkation day. That said, it is probably the only time you'll find the pool not crowded too.
Now it's really real!! We did get an upgrade from 11c to 11b and that's perfect didn't expect any balcony (won't be in there much). I call my sister, Karen, and they are next door.
We got an upgrade!!!!! I can't believe it, first one ever and I was really really hoing for one!!! Here's to PIXIE DUST!!!! I'M SO EXCITED I COULD SCREAM!!
Congrats to everyone's who's gotten upgrades!
