Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I just got home from a whirlwind weekend trip to New York. DH sprang a surprise birthday (40th :scared1:) celebration and it was awesome. It reminded a bit of our Europe trip last May trying to navigate the metro and all the walking!

My little girl will be 19 months when we cruise. I don't have a DS as listed on travelbees site.
I updated the website. I think you previoulsy posted that you have a 1yr old without mentioning gender so I just put DD/DS...

yeah the wonder is in your way!!!:cool1::cool1:
true romance-i noticed that in fish extender there is only my name posted, please also sign my dh(vitor) and dd(matilde)age 4.
Updated your DH & DD's name on the website.

:banana::banana: Yeah on the double digits!

Happy Birthday, my husband is from NY and we visit every 3 years. A little cold back there right now.

I found this on Cruise TT. It lets you know how many other people and ships we will be dealing with when we are in our different ports.

Puerto Vallarta 4/20/2011 port load 7746/ships in port Norwegian Star, Carnival Splendor, Disney Wonder
(I don't think the Carnival Star will be in Puerto Vallarta with us since her fire in November.)

Manzanillo 4/22/2011 port load 2500/ships in port Disney Wonder

Mazatlan 4/24/2011 port load 2500/ships in port Disney Wonder

Cabo San Lucas 4/25/2011 port load 6588/ ships in port Norwegian Star, Oosterdam, Disney Wonder

loving life-if we link resseies that means that we get the same table to eat diner.our dd does really fine with dinners, maybe you can book the nursery at dinner,or when our daughter was yonguer we always have a dvd player with some of her favorites cartoons.
i book karmel shutle transportion,for a 3 legs journey(hotel-ship,ship-hotel,hotel-lax aiport),in a private town car,for 300 dolars(tip included),is that okay?in europe its about the same thing,but in the united states i really don´t know.

Loving Life..... I'm thinking about skipping dinners too. As much I LOVE the dinners, my 5 and 7 year olds are not great at restaurants. Not sure it's worth the stress of worrying aobut their behavior and being disappointed. HOWEVER, what about tipping? And what about table mates? Any input any one? Thanks!!!

Happy Birthday!! What a nice birthday present. Did you get to see any
shows in NYC? I was lucky enough to live in Manhattan from 1999-2000. Great, fun city.

Anyone know if there's a disco night? I've seen it someplace (Navigator, I think) that there's a night when us oldies can flashback to days ago and listen to some 70's music, but can't tell. This'll help me pack... as I'd love to don some clingy bellbottoms other than Yoga class.:rotfl:
I actually have no idea if they have a 70's night, good question.

Good information to know, thanks for sharing.

Great idea. Thanks. Since we'll be out in California a few days in advance, visiting family, maybe she'll adjust. If the town car quote was intended for us, we have transportation. Sounds like you got a deal on the shuttle... being a private car and 3 legs!:lmao:
You will be surprised at how well kids adapt when on vacation. I would make sure she gets good naps and try taking her to dinner. I have an Ipod Touch that my 2 year old plays with at dinner. I loaded it with a bunch of apps and shows and he does okay at dinner. However, if he misbehaves at dinner I will be leaving him in the clubs while we eat.

I also have a 2, 5, and 7 year olds who are not great at home or restaurants. We will be doing the dine n play so they can eat with us and then be picked up for the clubs. However, if they do not behave for the 30 mins. or so in the dining room, they will be spending the whole meal in the club. I want to enjoy myself and not be stressed out too. I love the dining rooms and will not miss them. I especially think my 2 year old will spend most of the meals in the club.

the shutle part was only for us,i just want to khown if anyone think this price is ok.
the only day my dd is missing dinner is when we have dinner at palo,if this cruise is like the med cruise in summer, they always have some kind of mini-shows,like minie dancing,or belle and the beast, sorcerer mickey, etc on the dining rooms, plus some of the waiters are great, they do magic tricks,my dd and the others kids were very happy.

Hi.. we have returned form the Wonder's 2nd 7 night cruise and it's NYE cruise. It was fantastic. We loved celebrating a holiday on the cruise. Disney sure does it right. They provided party hats, noise makers and champaign cups for you to take home. On our bed there was a Disney Lithograph and box of chocolates. Plus we had a special NYE menu.

Many of the CM will be continuing on to the MR, so you will probably see some of the same folks. Things didn't run as smoothly as our 10/2009 Magic cruise and it seemed like there were a few new CM. Hopefully things will run a lot smoother by the time they get use to longer cruises than 3 or 4 nights.

We had a SPH 5522 and this is a great room, never heard any noises from next room (connecting). The view was not as obstructed as I thought it might be.

The Edge is open, so now the Tweens have someplace to go. The Club/Lab switch seems to work well. The kids can move freely back and forth between the 2, they just need to ask a CM. I saw more kids at the Lab then at the Club.

Wave phones are great, but after having a smart phone it is hard to text with the keypad. We used the phones to keep in contact between the 2 of us and then when DD went into the Lab, we kept one so they could text us when she needed to be picked up.

So now for the bad news... We decided not to do this April cruise. Just too much time for us to take off, so soon... We have moved ours to Nov 13 MR cruise. (we did snag a SPH room on that cruise as well).

Thanks for the birthday wishes! The only sites we saw was Time Square, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and Central Park. Never left Manhattan and our hotel is right off Time Square. We got to see two off Broadway shows, one was great (39 Steps) and the other not nearly as good (Miss Abbigal).

Thanks for the info on the Wonder and glad you had a great time. I'm looking forward to the wave phones so we can also get in touch with our friends while onboard. We'll miss you on the cruise but I've been to Mexico many times in November and the weather is perfect that time of the year.

Sorry you won't be cruising with us, Laura. :sad1: But thanks for your trip review - I think you've convinced me we need to take a NYE cruise! Have fun on your November cruise. :)

I know I'm waaay late joining this meet thread, but better late than never, right? ;)

We booked ages ago, but weren't sure whether everyone's schedules were going to align to make this cruise a go or not. Looks like we'll be onboard with you all though. Woo Hoo! :thumbsup2

Since it's a longer cruise with plenty of time to make deliveries, we'd love to join the fish extender group. It will be myself, DH, DS15, and DD12

Hi cruisers! I've been away for a while...just very busy and overwhelmed with work responsibilities. Wanted to check back in and say hi to everyone. Hard to believe this is just around the corner! :yay:

We are going to be in 5522 on this cruise. Glad to hear that you liked it. Unfortunately, I know my neighbors in the connecting room will be noisy. They're my kids :rotfl2:

We will miss you Laura! Keep in touch and have a fantastic November MR cruise.

Hi Sheila, Welcome to the boards:goodvibes I am in charge of the FE and I added you to the list.

Does anyone know about the character breakfast on the longer cruises. Do you think they will be the 1st 2 sea days, like the 18th and 19th? I am trying to figure out a day to book Palo brunch, but don't want to book it during our character breakfast.
