Shellyamd...thanks for posting the "Who in Port" info. I needed to call The Pirates in the Bay again.

Kristen...Here's my $1.95 (inflation). I totally believe that you should give the dining room a try with your daughter and have the nursery on standy-by. As long as she's not tired, the dining rooms changing every night could keep her going through dinner if the servers focus on getting yours first. Plus all the distractions(toys and other children). Just keep calm...that's the key with young ones Though I would think early dining might help too. There's still 3 mos to see and that make a lot of difference sometime with toddlers. :goodvibes

Laura (lucky1)...as sad to see you leave us. Have a great trip in Nov and thanks for the update on the NYE cruise, sounds like it was a blast.

party: Welcome Az Pirates!! party:

Don't know why but my cruise clock is off...I redid it...it's still wrong. :confused3

I know I'm waaay late joining this meet thread, but better late than never, right? ;)

We booked ages ago, but weren't sure whether everyone's schedules were going to align to make this cruise a go or not. Looks like we'll be onboard with you all though. Woo Hoo! :thumbsup2

Since it's a longer cruise with plenty of time to make deliveries, we'd love to join the fish extender group. It will be myself, DH, DS15, and DD12

:welcome: Welcome to the group!

Hi cruisers! I've been away for a while...just very busy and overwhelmed with work responsibilities. Wanted to check back in and say hi to everyone. Hard to believe this is just around the corner! :yay:

You're letting work get in the way of your cruise planning activities?!
:goodvibes

I found this on Cruise TT. It lets you know how many other people and ships we will be dealing with when we are in our different ports.

Puerto Vallarta 4/20/2011 port load 7746/ships in port Norwegian Star, Carnival Splendor, Disney Wonder
(I don't think the Carnival Star will be in Puerto Vallarta with us since her fire in November.)

Manzanillo 4/22/2011 port load 2500/ships in port Disney Wonder

Mazatlan 4/24/2011 port load 2500/ships in port Disney Wonder

Cabo San Lucas 4/25/2011 port load 6588/ ships in port Norwegian Star, Oosterdam, Disney Wonder

Thanks for the info. The Splendor is scheduled to be done with repairs and back at sea by March, so PV and Cabo will be a little crowded, but the other 2 will be great!:thumbsup2

Hi All,

For those of us looking to shed some pounds before the cruise and have smartphones (ie...iPhone or Android), I found a fitness application that is free for the month of January. Take a look at the following link:

I have an Android phone through my job and have downloaded and it works great. You can view my fitness activities at the following link:

Happy exercising. :dogdance:

Keep up the good work. I have been dieting for 2 months now and have lost 12 pounds. I have found that working out is really the factor in losing my weight. I am now noticing that my clothes are starting to fall off me. That may not be good, not really being able to buy new ones.

Well I fianlly got around to booking some transportation to and from the peir and hotels stays for disneyland after the cruise. If anyone is intrested this is what I have booked and maybe it can help someone out.

First we still have to decide where were staying the 2 nights before our cruise. Our flight gets in around midnight so were just going to stay at an airport that has shuttle around LAX(looking at the four points or hilton)
Saturday we are renting a car from LAX and driving to long beach and going to the aquarium of the pacific and maybe a harbor tour/whale watching (depending on weather). We are staying a a hotel in long beach(haven't figured which one. Then Sunday(day of cruise) cory is driving us to the cruise port and dropping the car back at LGB(airport) 11 miles away and then taking a shared van for 16$ back to the pier through prime time shuttle.

I know it sounds like a pain but this is the only way we have figured out how to have a rental car for a day and not pay to rent it/park it during the cruise.

After our cruise we are having a private van(ExecuCar) pick us up from the peir and take is to disneyland area. We are staying at the HOJO and got a great AP rate(plus they now have Enternaiment rates up for the days after our cruise. Will be at disneyland/hojo from April 27- till may 1st.We are then having the same comapny pick us up and take us back to LAX for our flight.

In case anyone is intrested these are the rates we booked at. I think they are at a wonderful price to fit our budget.

Shared Shuttle from LGB(airport) to peir 16$ per person
Private mini van from peir to disneyland 68$
Hojo AP/ERate 59$ 2 queen non smoking
Private mini van back to LAX 73$
Rental car from LAX drop off LGB 1 night(hotwire) 57$
aquarium tickets 2adults 2 Kids 68$(not including harbour/whale watching)
four points by sheraton(lax)98$

We could of gone from LAX on saturday directly to san pedro and spent the day there without a car for $250 at the doubletree(room/fly package) but we decided(I mean me) to do the day trip to long beach instead. I just don't know what we would do for an entire day in san pedro without a car.

Disney is offering lower rates right now for So.Cal. residents(meaning anyone can buy them) for $99 2 day 1-park Disneyland or 2 day park hopper Disneyland.:smickey: You can buy them at most grocery stores when here or at the Disney Store. If not, contact me.

Congrats to all you dieting warriors. I'm so proud (and jealous) of you!:cheer2:

Providing more details for the FE exchange - which we'd still like to participate in.

Does anyone know about the character breakfast on the longer cruises. Do you think they will be the 1st 2 sea days, like the 18th and 19th? I am trying to figure out a day to book Palo brunch, but don't want to book it during our character breakfast.

 I totally forgot about the character breakfast. This is something I need to know soon. I really don't want to book a Palo brunch that I would have to give up.

Or can we request a character breakfast?? What characters are at the breakfast and will they do autographs and pictures??

Sandy - I can only speak from my experience on the 7 day cruises. You are assigned to a character breakfast on a sea day based on your dining rotation and time. I don't think there's going to be a way to know which day you will have your character breakfast until you get on board and talk to the dining room staff.

From pictures I took and what I can remember, the characters were Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Chip and Dale. They came to each table and interacted a little, definitely had lots of time for pictures. It was fun! (And it's not only for kids; just DH and I went to ours - DD was too tired from her long night at the kids' club and I didn't want to miss my chance for a picture with Mickey! :mickeyjum)

I think they had tickets in our room with our Character Breakfast time and date. You get the same table, table mates, and servers as you have at dinner. To be safe, I am going to book our Palo brunch on the 21st. Hoping the breakfast would have been earlier. If they conflict, I will just change our Palo brunch, I think that is easy to do.

So far I am going to book Palo for High Tea on the 18th, brunch on the 21st and Dinner on the 23rd. I would love to add another brunch if they had one open.
