Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

party::jumping1:party: Just saw my first DCL commercial about the Wonder coming to the Pac Coast!!!! :yay: It was during the show Treasure Quest on GreenHD (Planet Green) channel 286 (DirecTV). :happytv: I am soooo stoked...my heart is still beating sooo fast...of course I was hoot and hollowering too. :rolleyes1 Danny said he saw it earlier while watching Gold Rush on The Discovery Channel. I was kinda sad til now!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: Still haven't seen any billboards around yet.

Oh YES!!!! 100 days!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

AND...add me to those with teary eyes while watching all the youtube video. Next time you listen to them on that video Dany posted. It sounds like the Wonder says "When You Wish Upon A Star" and the Dream say "Makes No Difference Who You Are". It really does!! :goodvibes

So sad to read that the Wonder had to miss CC because of heavy winds. That's probably the only must do on the Caribbean cruise in my book.

Gotta get serious about all the planning. It's so weird to thing I booked just over a year ago and now it's almost here!:thumbsup2

Reading everyone elses excitement and planning is getting me back in cruise mode. I was reviewing the excursions and with a DD6 was getting a bit discouraged with age limits... but now, we've decided that staying on the ship wouldn't be bad either :). We've cruised Disney a few times, so why I was getting discouraged ... no idea... but thanks .... FE will be fun and getting back in shape no so much but will try! :cool1:

Hi!! Can anyone suggest a Limo company they have used from LAX? Thanks!! Now that the kids know about the cruise (it was a Christmas gift) there is a countdown every morning on the way to school! :cool1:

Check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aVsCsthfs0

Someone posted the link on another thread. It shows the Wonder leaving PC this afternoon on her way to LA and cruising past the Dream. I feel a little silly about it, but every time I hear those horns I get all teary-eyed!
So cool! Brooklyn and family are on that ship. If you have her on Facebook she is posting pictures.
Some of you on Facebook have been writing about passports. Kids DO need them when traveling to Mexico, but you can get a passport card, for $40, or a passport book, currently at $105. Kids passports last for 5 years.

jweiss-if you like i will share with you brunch and high tea, just let me know de dates you book,so i can`t book another dates for me and hubby,i don`t mind have 2 brunchs:rolleyes1

yeah the wonder is in your way!!!:cool1::cool1:
true romance-i noticed that in fish extender there is only my name posted, please also sign my dh(vitor) and dd(matilde)age 4.
if anyone is late dining and want to link ressies to eat at main dining rooms, please let me khown,we are 3 people, but my dd is well behaved at dinner.

Great Gabriela, added everyone's names.

When you list those gifting to one another, do you group by kids age, other means or lottery style?

I have read on FE's but still am unsure if it's a daily gift or one good one. Please let me know.

When I break us into groups, I will try to put like-aged kids together in the same group. However, we have a broad range of ages--so expect to get little kids, teens, and adults.

It is up to you how you want to deliver gifts. I think most people deliver gifts once, that is what I am planning on doing.

At this point we have 24 families participating, I would expect the groups to be between 10-15 families. You are welcome to be in 1 or both. We decided to split it a few months back to make the FE more manageable and enjoyable for those of us participating. Some people get stressed out when there is a huge FE group.

I will leave it up to the group if we want to assign general days to deliver the FE's or just whenever you want and have time.

Hey Kristi...bet your getting really excited about your 2 nt cruise in less than 2 week!! :goodvibes So wish I would have jumped on it now...:confused3 Would be a nice break for the cold. :beach:

Laura (Lucky1)...how was your trip? How was the weather? How did Disney celebrate the NY?

Laura (M2DD's)...how was your trip here to Cali? Did you guys get wet on the 29th too? DL is still so much fun in the rain and even when your soaking wet. :rotfl:

My kids are getting so excited about this trip. We've spent the evening looking at excursions. I can't believe that the 90 day mark is coming up so quickly.

Now if I could get my kids and DH to agree on the same activities..... :sad2:

Does anyone know if there is a wine store near the port???

https://www.offthevinewines.com/ Right in the downtown area near the port. I've read there are also several grocery stores in the area that sell alcohol. Are you staying in San Pedro Saturday night or just planning a quick stop somewhere Sunday morning?

Speaking of staying in San Pedro, is anyone else spending Saturday night at the Doubletree? That's where we're staying and I thought it might be fun to have a quick informal meet if anyone else will be there. :goodvibes

99 days!! Time for the double digit happy dance! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

Sandy, yes I am getting pretty excited to go. I am actually thinking of it more as a weekend getaway with my husband then a cruise. We are not doing Palo or going to the shows. We of course will do all that in April. We would rather go to the shows with our kids. We are excited to see some movies, he is dying to see Tron. I am excited to have two dinners out without kids:goodvibes I requested to dine alone. We just need some down time just the two of us. We have not been away without our kids in 3 1/2 years, I was pregnant with my youngest. I think we are going to eat, sleep, watch movies and play some bingo. I am hoping this cruise will win my DH over on DCL. He is unsure how our April cruise is going to be and he is sick of me talking about it. So I know this will get him in the mood.

All the logistics of going away for 2 nights without the kids is exhausting. Getting people to watch them, then different people to pick them up and take them to school on Friday, then I am writing a novel on their schedule and how to take care of them for 3 days is crazy.

Next weekend I am taking my Girl Scout Brownie troop to an overnight camping trip at a lodge. Sleeping with 100 girls and adults in one big lodge. I am going to be lying in my bunk bed dreaming of DCL and being pampered.

We are :car: n' down on Saturday, but we aren't staying at the Doubletree. I am hoping to get there early afternoon and go down to the Ports O'Call Village to watch & wave at any cruise ships leaving that day. If time permits, would love to met up.

He is unsure how our April cruise is going to be and he is sick of me talking about it. So I know this will get him in the mood. Sounds like heaven! Just remember there will probably be a lot of new CM and service might be a little slow.

Well there you go...you'll need a vacation after all the prep work. :goodvibes I usually need a vacation after my vacation. Cause I don't want to miss a thing.

We are staying at the Doubletree and would love to meet up the night before. I will start a list of who is staying there. Dany, do you know if their stay & cruise package includes breakfast? I have seen others on the board mention it, and I did not see that mentioned on the site. I just need to get around to calling them.

What kinda meets do we want to have on the ship? Maybe we can plan a couple and get them on the website?

Kristi, Doubletree offers a bunch of different packages; some of them do include breakfast (but I think just for 2 people). I think all the packages come up when you actually put in the dates for your reservation.

I actually just booked a straight room; no package. I'd read on Cruise Critic that Doubletree doesn't charge for parking even if you don't book a package so I called and asked them about it. Sure enough, I was told I was fine to park for the whole 10 days even without a package. That doesn't make a lot of sense but it is much cheaper that way! :thumbsup2 I'm a little nervous about it but I wrote down the girl's name and exactly what she told me just in case we run in to any difficulties.

I'm up for a meet whenever/wherever the group decides; no real preference. Embarkation day is busy but good for any last minute FE room changes. Or maybe 1st sea day would be less hectic? :confused3 In any case, hope we can work something out for Saturday night for those of us that will be in San Pedro already. :)

Have fun with your Brownie troop! You will have earned your quick Wonder cruise after that trip :goodvibes:

We are staying at the Double Tree on Saturday night also. I got the Disney Wonder special, but I was told it included the parking and shuttle to the ship and back when we return. I don't recall being told it included breakfast however. I wonder if it would be cheaper to get a regular room and see if they charge to take guests on their shuttle. Did you find out any information about their shuttle that takes guests to the Wonder?
I'll try to call in the next few days and see what they have to say. Anyway, we live in Sacramento, so it would be fun to meet up the the night before. I'm a full time high school teacher with two children 8 and 5, so I'm not on disboards as much as I would like.
