We are going to be visiting your lovely city shortly.

Susan - I think you're really brave to be heading to DL on an anniversary Saturday in the middle of July.

Yes, it has been quiet over here. Southern California finally got the heat-triple digits today. I popped into Disneyland for a few minutes this morning, and I have the 55th Anniversary Brochures, if anyone would like one. I'll be back on Saturday for the festivities.
I'm so excited I couldn't wait to tell you guys to

Welcome, Richelle!
We are going to be visiting your lovely city shortly.Heading off to Seattle this weekend for an Alaskan cruise (w/Carnival) and our last port is Victoria. Sadly we are only going to be there for a few hours in the evening, but I hear it's a beautiful city and we are looking forward to wandering around the inner harbor area.
So exciting! Have a great time...we'll need a full update when you get back.![]()
Welcome auntshell, family and friends!!

Kristi - Thoughts and questions..
Cut off date.... I am open to this as it depends on the size of the group. If you have a larger group than 3-4 months ahead gives enough time for planning, crafting, making or ordering gifts. If you break into smaller groups of under 20, then you can probably make it 1 - 2 months out.
Do you have a cut off size of groups?
Not sure I like the designating day for giving, because if something happens or you get your Character breakfast and spa treatments for the same day, you might not be able to deliver on your schedule. Maybe designating beginning, middle or end of the cruise. That give the freedom for someone to pick the day, but not having everything in the beginning of the cruise and nothing at the end.
Kristi, here are my thoughts on the FE:
- I definitely agree we need a cut off date, but I think December will be too early. On our last cruise I organized the FE (so I really appreciate what you got yourself into with this big a group). We tried to cut off 4 weeks out but there were people who signed up for the cruise late and people who found the DIS late and I felt really bad about leaving them out (we eventually all agreed to let everyone participate, but our group was only about 20 total, much smaller than this one is going to be.)
- Maybe you could use cutoff dates to put us in smaller groups? Like, see how many people we have signed up 4 months out and get us all set into however many groups, then the people who join later can be put into their own FE group until the 4 week cutoff? Does that make sense?
- We did have "set" days for deliveries, but it was clear that the schedule was flexible. We didn't want to leave it to chance and end up with too many delivering on the same day - too heavy for the FE on that day and nothing at all on other days - but we agreed that if for whatever reason that day didn't end up working for you then you would do it whenever you could. No stress -it's vacation and the FE exchange is supposed to be fun.Laura's idea is a good one too; just give folks a window of a few days and let them work it in when they can.
However we end up deciding to do it, it's gonna be fun!![]()
Karen - added your photo on the roll call.
Kristi - are you the official volunteer for the FE?
I agree with Dany for a cut off date four to six weeks before the cruise and splitting the list if it's too long. On last cruise, there were 40 staterooms participating and I ended up bringing a carry-on full of FE gifts even with the group split into two.
Hi Everyone.....We just booked and will be sailing with you on April 17 2011. Myself Richelle, DH Carlisle, DS Chadwick (13yrs) time of trip, DD Veronica (8 yrs). We will be bringing some friends, a family of 6 DD (17), DS (15), DS (13) DD (9) and my parents. Can't wait, it's going to be fun. This is our second cruise with Disney, we did the 11 day Mediterranean Cruise April 24, 2010. It was amazing, so much to see. We are from Victoria, BC Canada. We will be planning to visit DL after Cruise for a few days. We are scheduled for Main dinning.
Can you please add us to the FE list. We did this a couple of years ago and DH asked if we were doing it again, said it was fun. DH, DD5 and myself.

Yes, I can be the official FE person. Connie, since we have the website now, do you want to be the official Roll Call person, so we don't have dual lists?
I was lucky enough to meet Amy (amyamya) and her adorable kids yesterday at the park. We live in the same neighborhood and met on this meet thread, how funny is that. We had fun, even though it was 106 degrees here. We hope to get together a lot over the next 9 months so our kids have friends in the club.
We just got rooms
we are a large group coming from Alberta
Us (DH, ME DS (9) and DD(6) )
then our wonderful neighbours
their 3 kids DS (12) DD (11) and DS (5)
then more friends with their 2, DD (14) and DS (9)
Laura, Dany and Connie, good suggestions for the FE's. I have never done them before so all I know is what I read on the boards. Dany, since you have done this before, I might email you for advice and suggestions. Do we want to see how many people have signed up, say Jan. 1st 2011, and then decide if we should split into groups? I like the idea about people that add late, get their own FE group, so everyone is included.
9 months FINALLY!!! It really felt like this last month went SOOO slow, except it feels like my summer is almost over. This last week has been a lot of staying low...JoJo had strep throat and ended up in the ER with 106.6 temp. I'm ready for life again except it's hot as hell in Fresno!

9 Months
OMG it is 106 here too and no rain in sight (We want rain this time of year to cool things down). The desert is a cruel place in the summer.
Kristi - I had forgotten how hot it gets in N. Cal. I remember growing up without central air and being in the 2nd story trying to sleep at night.
The best thing you have going for you all out there is Folsom Lake and the American River and Lots of shade trees. We have none of that in the desert an have to take some dips in the pool.
Anyone up to connecting on facebook?
Welcome Auntshell
Richelle, we were on the May 15, 11-night mediterranean. Wasn't that an incredible trip? I can't imagine the 10-night since I was so ready for a sea day just after Tunisia! Glad you made it to your cruise too, we were following all the drama with cancelled flights from the volcanic ash. It affect our cruise too. Boy that was stressful.
I second the WOW!!! It's great!
Travelbee - I just e-mailed you a pic from our '08 cruise...funny that I can't find anything more current...yet.![]()
