Zippa D Doodah - That is great! I know what kind of feeling that is to be able to fit into smaller pants. Keep up the great work and all of your goals will be achieved. You are a winner! :cheer2:

I second that!! :thumbsup2

About the no salt in your diet, I was told that salt is a preservative for our blood and we need it!! I was told that my a nutritionalist. I was also told we need some "GOOD" sugars. (not table sugar) Please let me know...I may be way off base here.

Hello everyone! The whole family had a stomach bug so that helped with the diet :) haha, excercise has still been hard, but diet alone helped me shed some pounds!!!! i was able to wear a dress shirt without the buttons pulling around the waist!!! oh and i was able to put on a pair of pre-maternity jeans!! one of my faves :)

I got an IPOD for my birthday on the condition that i would use it to work out, so let's get this party started!!!!!

You are correct that you do need some salt and sugars in your diet but you have to watch out how much and what are the sources for each. In everything you eat, there is sodium. So no matter what you do you are going to get salt in your diet. What we are saying is if you really want to get that tight look on your body, you have to keep the amounts down to a certain level. I don't think anyone has said to cut it out completely because the only way to do that is to eat nothing and drink water all day. (Not a recommended dietary move.) Just don't add extra salt to your foods.

Sugars are the same way. You want to get your sugars from natural sources such as fruits and vegetables. Just eat them at appropriate times during the day. The sugars that are in fruit are more of an energy sugar so if eaten at night they get stored into your system because you are not expelling the same amounts of energy as you would in the daytime. The sugars in vegetables are better for you at night.

I hope that helps. Everyone have a great day. I am off to the gym before going into work. :woohoo:

:thumbsup2 :sunny: Happy Hump Day!
I have been doing my strictly modified diet now for going on the 6th day. I am SO excited about this I just had to share. I have been at a lull for literally over a month (little to no weight loss) and working out like crazy plus lap swimming 2X per week PLUS walking 2+miles 3X per week. Let me tell you, I was frustrated!

I can honestly say that I have finally figured out my body. My body has the slowest metabolism there is..lousy news. The best news was that my body type will lose more weight faster just by speeding up the process

You know like those people you see on tv who've lost 50+lbs and the little disclaimer under their picture "results not typical"..that's me. So I guess that's the bright side of my body results :sunny:

To explain a little what I'm doing, is very much like Bubba. I don't add salt to anything, and I check the sodium on every package. No pre-packaged foods, I prepare all my foods at once 2X per week, fresh. It's amazing how much easier it is to grab pre-portioned baggies of food and know exactly when you need to eat them. I LOVE that...no thinking. It takes me about 20-30 mins to prepare my meat (lean turkey & chicken only), boil potatoes (if I can have potatoes I'm happy :) ) and my greens (asparagus & broccoli). That's basically what I eat. I also have the occasional fried egg white or oatmeal, but basically that's it.

I have no sugar whatsoever and basically less than 200mg sodium per day. This though was also prescribed by a nutritionist to my specific body type for a short period of time, so be cautious if you're considering a plan like this. Honestly, I am going to take a day (maybe 2) off this weekend. My plan is this. Eat whatever I want but don't gorge. I will also continue to eat my protein every 2-3 hrs and drink lots of water. I will let you know the results on Monday.

In any event, you all are doing SO AWESOME!!! I am so thrilled to be a part of this thread and look forward to hearing amazing success stories. We can do it!! Off to the gym, have a great day!

Hi Everybody, count me in. I've been on the WW Core Plan for 17 weeks now. I've lost 28.4 lbs. and have another 17 to go. It's getting tougher everyday. Now that I'm kind of in the homestretch it's coming off slower and slower. At times I feel like I'm going to fall off the wagon. I'll be here if anyone needs support and I know you will all be there for me too. Good Luck to everyone.

Yup, need this! Planned trip in December and sudden trip (DH has conference so we've just booked) in June but can't fit into all shorts... Joined for "healthy" and have added more organic eating to budget, cut out sodas and caffeine. Now need to lose weight. Started mall walking once a week - need to add more exercise. Hate dieting, but going to have to adjust eating to lose weight. Any other anti-dieters our there who have "counter-diet-culture" eating tips so I can get into my shorts in June and be really pleased with my weight by December :listen: thanks,

I would have been well past my goal and would have reached that ever missing 6-pack (abs not drinks). May you stay blessed, healthy and motivated. :sunny: :Pinkbounc :teeth: :rotfl: :teeth:

Bubba, my goal for now is not 6-pack abs. I am just trying to get from a regular sized keg down to a pony keg :teeth:

I made it finally! Today is the start and the hardest part is over. I did the week (5 day) induction period and whew..it wasn't easy. Thanks SO much for this thread, I wouldn't have made it without it!

I weighed my self this morning and I've lost 8lbs in 5 days :woohoo: I feel like dancing!

I am going to the gym today, but am going to have an "eat whatever I want" meal this afternoon. I will resume the plan again tomorrow (modified, thank goodness). Basically, starting tomorrow, I will be able to eat any protein I like (not just turkey & chicken) any fruit and wheat bread in moderation. I will still drink 100oz water per day and eat every 3 hrs.

I am shocked that this is working exactly as it said they said it would. It is so wonderful I feel like I've been searching for something forever and finally have it. It's not easy, but it's not that hard either. I hope this works long term for me, and am still charging for my 1st goal. As you can see from my ticker, I'm doing ok :thumbsup2

To everyone dedicated to lose weight, let's do it! Share your stories or questions here and lets lose over 100lbs on this thread. Wouldn't that be great?

Good luck and have a great and healthy day :sunny:

Zippa D Doodah - That's a great goal to have. The 6 pack is actually my goal for me. I have had it in the past where I had the beginnings of it. I woke up one morning and could see the top 2 blocks on my abs. I have been trying to get that back ever since then.

thelionqueen - I love your idea and I think if you add up everyone's weight loss so far, we may be close to 100 pounds :woohoo: :cheer2: . I feel like I am the one holding everyone else back as I have only lost 12 pounds. I only have 3 more to go to make my original goal but I have increased it to loose another 10 pounds. I started off at 212 pounds and now, I am trying to get down to 190. Hopefully, I can be as lean and tight as I am hoping for at that weight. By the way, your 8 pound weight loss last week is fantastic. I am so proud of you with your dedication and inspiration all I can say is that you are truly doing an amazing job.

DisneyMommyMichelle - It was good to hear from you again. I understand how it is to have everyone in the family sick. It does make it very difficult to get in your exercise time. When that happens, I just try to make sure that I don't stop moving. I am always on the go. Whether it is at work, doing laundry or cleaning the house, I just try to stay active so my heart rate stays up.

Stay motivated everyone!! You are doing wonderful!! :thumbsup2 :woohoo: :cheer2:

I had a wonderful cheat day yesterday. After eating practically nothing, it felt wonderful to have some taste and crunch in my mouth.

I didn't go crazy, but did have what I was craving, bread & salt...bad girl..bad girl. Anyway, I don't regret it at all, and enjoyed every second of it. I weighed myself this morning and did gain a pound. I don't attribute this to anything, but if it is due to my cheating, so be it..I'm only human for goodness sake :rotfl2:

Anyway, right back on the program today. Very excited to keep losing. I was shopping today and a friend I hadn't seen in awhile stopped and chatted. The 1st thing she said was that it looked like I had lost some weight and I looked good :woohoo: This is what keeps me going..let me tell ya'.

Good luck to everyone, and Bubba, thanks so much for your encouragement and dedication. You are TOTALLY pulling your weight (no pun intended), not only that, if it weren't for you we wouldn't even have this thread! YOU ROCK!!! :thumbsup2 Keep up the good work

Can I join this group? I'm trying to lose the lard before our trip in August.

Can I join in still? I am going to Orlando June 9th. I have 13 lbs to lose by then (interim weight loss goal). I am on nutrisystem and have been losing about a pound per week. (am on nutrisystem now, have lost 17 lbs on it, was on atkins, sugar busters and calorie counting before for the additional weight loss) I am a little behind, havent lost any for 2 weeks, but have been cheating quite a bit. I'm back on track now and continue to exercise a lot. :hippie:

Welcome lindalinda and Enna. We are more than happy to have you here. I would like to tell lindalinda that you have already done a wonderful job on your diet plan, according to your ticker. Over 60 pounds lost is fantastic. (By the way, I use that phrase a lot. I guess I need to get a thesaurus to learn some new adjectives.) Nevertheless, great job and if there is anything we can do to keep you motivated, please let us know. We are here for you.

I was able to take my DD and my DS to the City Park to go for a walk. I am trying to get my DD ready for her solo trip. (We are taking just her this June. We took just DS last year and we had a great trip. Now, it is her turn.) Well, we had walked a half mile and she was already give out. She was begging me to stop. I kept reminding her that she will be doing a lot more walking than that while we were at Disney. She was complaining and kept asking when we could stop. Well, we stopped for some water a couple of times but ended up walking two miles this morning. It added to my total for the week fo 12 miles. I only got to go to the gym 3 times this week but I have been able to stay very active at work and at home. You know you are pushing it when you don't get to go to the gym so you come home and do a bunch of push-ups and sit-ups to offset it. I am eager to get to the gym on Monday to see my results. At my last weigh in, I was at 199 which is a 13 pound loss for me. The good part for me is I am getting leaner and so far I have been able to keep whatever muscle tone that I have. Luckily, I have several friends on this site that know what it is like and everything that everyone has said keeps me motivated and upbeat. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

thelionqueen - You have been a very special motivator for me. Maybe we are living similiar lives. Maybe that is the reason. Or since we are going through the same trials, we have a mutual admiration society. I know that I am not the only one that you have motivated on this site so let me say that YOU ROCK! :thumbsup2 :cool1: :cheer2: :woohoo:

Greetings weight loss friends! It is the 1st Monday of a brand new month, and I am so excited to keep losing weight..anyone with me?

For some reason, a new month brings brand new motivation and determination for me. I am now smaller than I've been in the last 5+ years! Even though I've still got a long way to go, I feel so much better and now know I can do this!

I am past my super strict period on my diet, and am now conforming it to "normal" life. I still eat protein and veggies every 3 hours, but am not going to restrict anything at all from my diet. I started feeling very restricted and felt like I was going to completely fall off the wagon. Instead, I just try to stick to it the best I can and surprisingly, I don't have the urge to cheat. Too funny. I did gain back 3lbs since the switch, but it doesn't bother me at all. I need to incorporate the guidelines with my personal eating habits and I can do it forever.

Welcome to all the new "losers" (I mean that in the best possible way) and keep us updated on your progress!

Bubba, you're doing awesome! Your determination is truly uplifting. I think we are struggling with our weight in the same way, and I will be here to push you as long as you're here to push me too :thumbsup2

Have a great week all!!! :yay: :yay:

thelionqueen - you've said so much of what is working for me, too! I definitely eat every 3 hours or so, and I'm not so restricted anymore. I even snuck a couple of Oreos this weekend and didn't feel guilty! Okay. Not THAT guilty.

I've now lost 23.5 pounds & 23 inches since January 15. Feeling great and want to keep on losing.

I just want to say how much I enjoy reading this thread. Very inspiring. Hope everyone has a great week!

WOW~!~!~
Congratulations! That is AWESOME!! I think it's so funny that it's taken me over 10 years to figure out my body..it needs to be fed, not starved..who would've thought!

Teacher..how much weight do you want to lose in total and do you have any timeframe in mind? Just curious.

I've lost 23lbs in total also and 27 inches overall. I cannot have my weight loss ticker anymore since the free dining came out and we booked our 2nd trip :lmao: But I have lost 23. My 1st goal is 45lbs, so I'm halfway there. After the 45, I will have only 20 more to go. But 65lbs seems way too daunting to me, so 45 works, and I'm already halfway there :thumbsup2

I got a swimsuit today that is 2 sizes smaller than one I would have ordered in January :cool1: I would like to thank all of you on this thread for this accomplishment, you were a big part of getting me to that size. I plan on buying another one in July 2 sizes smaller than this one, so I must keep losing.

I thought I'd post a picture of me from last year. I was 10lbs heavier in this picture than I am now. I will post a picture of me right before we leave 5/28 to show you all (and see for myself) the progress. BTW, those are 2 of my prince charmings..prince charming #1 (DH) was taking the picture.

Well, off to the gym and swimming...have a great and skinny day!

lionqueen - I don't really have a weight goal. Honestly I'd like to be to a different size. I've lost almost 2 sizes, but you know how brands run. I, too, am searching for a swimsuit. There's a Lands End one I'd like, but my waist needs to go down another inch before it would be in the comfort zone. One inch in about a month is what I'm doing now.

Love the picture of you & your boys. They are adorable!
