My internist is at the point where she wants me to go see the dietician in their practice. because she is concerned about my diet.
Now, it's not so much that my diet is not healthy, but it's just not enough.
I am B12 deficient as well as vitamin D and Calcium deficient. I have also had trouble regulating other vitamins, minerals and electrolytes at one time or another. It doesn't help that for the past 6-7 months i've had basically no appetite to speak of the majority of the time.
My internist had me track what I was eating for a 2 week period and we discovered that I have only been eating at most 1000 calories a day.
On days when I am home all day it is usually less because I eat much healthier at home (lot of grilled meats and raw veggies)
I do eat 3 servings of fruit and 3 servings of vegetables a day. I usually have chicken, fish or turkey with lunch and dinner. But I don't usually snack during the day and breakfast is difficult because I usually need to grab something on the way out the door, so I usually grab a bag of cereal and a banana or a nutrigrain bar. But I also can't eat peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, shellfish and I am limited to 1 serving of dairy/day because of lactose intolerant issues.
I was just wondering if anyone here has been to a dietician and if it was helpful. Also, what exactly did they do for you?
