traveling with kids/hubby and vegan sister in a few weeks. i know disney will make meal accomodations for GF/CF (we have 3 autistic kids), but curious if anyone knows if they will make vegan meals as well? wasn't sure if i should post here or in teh dining board -- but it seems that you all know the most about special accomodations, so i thought i'd start here first.

thanks.

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information. Post #3 has a large section related to dietary restrictions. That would be a good place to start.

Or, if you want an easier route, click on the link in my signature.

My daughter is vegan and Disney has always provided fantastic aletrnate meals for her from the time she was a teenager. At the age of 10 she went on a backstage tour for kids 10-16 and they went to another restaurant to get her something she could eat. This was the first of many wonderful experiences with eating at Disney with diet issues.

We were at the Prime time Cafe and there was a couple behind us with a special request for food. The resturant chef came out a greeted the family and asked them what he could make for them. He basicaly said he has access to anything he needs. I would call the resturant ahead and let them know what you need. DIS is very accomidating in this department.

Disney is generally very accomodating to special dietary requests. You should also post on the dining board to get more responses from Vegan experts. I've seen a bunch of threads on the topic over there.

Is a discussion on the book but the links do not work.

One issue is on how vegan a person is. Some vegans will not eat sugar unless they know that bone char was not used in the processing and avoid gelatin unless they are sure it is animal free. I liked the tip about how to get the best service like calling ahead so that the chef will have time to plan the meal.
