Okay, flame suit on.........

Has anyone actually tried a diet pill that works?? I've read about Alli and don't really want the side effects if I decide to cheat just once.

So any thoughts?

Have you checked out our W.I.S.H. (We're Inspired to Stay Healthy) forum?

There are a lot of people there on various weight loss and fitness programs, and they're very generous with sharing their knowledge and encouraging each other.

The only one I have ever used and had it work was yanked off the market and that was Ephedra. I lost a ton of weight on it but then they pulled it and now I can't find anything to replace it *not ever the new Ephedra they approved for sale* and it stinks!!! I'd give anything to have bottles of the old stuff around here. I had "some" luck with South Beach but not much! Good luck

Tenuate, an appetite suppressant. Or so I've heard. ;)

A good friend of mine lost weight with Adipex. You need to be under a Dr.'s care to watch your blood pressure and it made her very thirsty.

With few exceptions, a pill didn't put the weight on, so don't expect it to take it off. Dieting is more a matter of getting healthy and learning to eat properly for your body's needs. Some people tolerate more carbs than others. Some people need more protien.

Learning what food and how much of it to put in your body is what should be focused on for permanent weight loss and improved health.

Phen-fen - that was some amazing stuff! I used it after I have my first baby, and not only was I not hungry, I had no desire to eat (I'd forget to eat). I lost the baby weight so fast, and was looking forward to using it again with my next baby, but they took it off the market. :guilty:

I know, I know!! I did really good and lost 20 pound but gained back 6 (LITTLE DEBBIE SNACKS ARE NOT A FOOD GROUP, LITTLE DEBBIE SNACKS ARE NOT A FOOD GROUP!)
I guess I just want a boost!

The thing that scares me about Alli is they suggest you take an extra pair of pants to work.......:scared1:

Ephedra was great - until our government decided that it had to interfere in our lives once again and pull the product off the market because a few people took more than the recommended dosage and had expected results. There wasn't a single case in which ephedra use in recommended doses hurt someone. You can still get it over the counter in almost every other country in the world.

Thanks, Uncle Sam...

Ya gotta love more government intervention NOT!!!:sad2: :confused3 Ephedra helped me lose 20 pounds in 4 months and I kept it off for 5 years. Now nearing 40, menopause and a slowing metabolism it would be so nice to have something to kick start me again........unfortunately it isn't available anymore. :sad1: Hmmm maybe a trip to Mexico is in order.......... :scratchin: drive:

Adipex works great, but after you get off of it your metabolism slows way down.
I LOVE the way I feel when I take those for the first couple of weeks, then they make you moody. I eventually stopped taking them because I was beginning to feel heart fluttering.
But...I lost major weight with them.

I know..I know. :faint: But I don't like veggies or many fruits and I have a hard time controlling my snacking. So even though I've started working out at least an hour and a half to two hours most days I still haven't lost more than 2 lbs since September.

I'm with the OP..I'm looking for SOMETHING..ANYTHING that will help me control my appetite because no matter how much I eat/drink I am always hungry.

I WISH I could find something too to help me lose about 20 pounds. I just started going to the gym this week and I am so sore. The sad thing is that even if you go to your DR about it, unless you need to lose major weight, they wont do anything. I know how to eat right, but with three kids at home with me everyday, it's really hard to stick to it.

Oh, and that about the need to carry a change of pants, no thanks! :rotfl2:

I know. That's why I won't even bring it up with my Dr..I'll struggle on alone here at home doing what I can do which is walking, using my exercise bike and my Wii Fit.

I am seriously considering SlimQuick or Hydroxycut though. I told DH what Alli does to you and he was SERIOUSLY grossed out. It takes a lot to gross him out because he's going to be an EMT.
