We saw the lion and penguins from Madagascar and Zorro & Esmerelda when we were there last week.

New characters since when? You will not see Doc Brown and Marty McFly much anymore, since Back to the Future closed today. Zorro and Esmerelda face characters have come to the park, as well as Lucy and Ricky. Madagascar has come to the park, and Over the Hedge will later next year, as well as a rumored appearance by Puss N Boots for the release of Shrek 3 next year. At Islands, they cut back a lot of the characters, and increased a number of stilt walkers. We saw dragon people and merladies one time during Mardi Gras. Thats about it.....

Is there a way to know when this characters are going to be, times and places?

They dont schedule it out like disney does. Thats the fun of the park, you can walk along and be walking next to one. They do have daily meets for the Madagascar Characters, and Shrek and Donkey have their own pancake hutt. They usually have a mini parade for the face characters on a bus, and the Nick characters come out in the busy times of the day.
