Just searching on Expedia for flight to MCO and for 2-18th August American Airlines is showing a direct flight for £717. When did they start flying direct, I only thought BA and Vigin did? Anyway, cheapest price I have seen. Anyone flown with them before? HAven't checked other dates.
CAn't believe how expensive Augusy flights are next year. Paid £500 miles and money with Vigin in August 2009, would love to see that price again.

Hi,

If it is the AA 6206 and AA 6205 ( at 1150 leaving LGW and 1735 leaving MCO)

then expedia is showing blue arrows against the flight numbers, indicating it is a codeshare.

It is exactly the same time as the BA flights so it would be a AA flight but operated by British airways. ( the BA coded flight numbers are pricing at £894)

Hi, what do you mean the BA coded flight numbers are pricing at £894?

It is the same flight - However, BA and AA codeshare, meaning that both of them can sell seats on it...

On the American Airlines, the seats are cheaper than buying them from British Airways direct...

Simples..

Yes, it is on the BA plane (exactly the same outbound and inbound times).

Based on BA and VA pricing at present, that is a good price to fly direct!.

Same flight booked as a BA flight is just under £900 and VA equivalent even more.

... but when I click on the flight to book it, Expedia says it isn't available, so either they have all gone or it's a glitch!

Hi,

Up to now BA and AA have not been allowed to codeshare on each other's transatlantic flights ( due to competition concerns). Also as members of BA's frequent flyer scheme we cannot earn miles on AA transatlantic flights.

However this restriction is being ended. I think that there is due to be an announcement that cooperation will start on 1st OCtober but until there is a formal announcement you will not be able to buy the codeshare flights ( although they are probably being loaded into the reservation systems just now)and it is a glitch that these flights are showing up now.
