Did you think your first contract would be your only contract?

I originally commented that the dues were what held me back from buying another contract but I’ve been thinking a lot about this and I bought DVC fully intending on buying a second contract. I’ve been stalking AKL resale contracts (I think the resale price is too high compared to direct) and information about the new VGF. I’ve realized that I probably won’t ever buy another contract/more points though until Disney starts changing some things for the better. On my two trips last year I felt exhausted at the parks and upset by reduced offerings in restaurants and entertainment. Now this year, I’m trying to plan for our May trip and I just feel mad trying to figure out transportation (used to use DME) and also paying for that transportation plus lightning lane, in addition to offerings still being reduced (this particularly bothers me at the resort quick services, mainly primo piatto). It just isn’t what it used to be pre 2020 and every day I’m more and more glad that I only did buy one contract.

Yep, We got 300 points on 2001 and added on 100 on 2002 I’d get another 400 if I could pay the same price I did 20 years ago.

We bought 250 points in BLT last year and figured ... that was enough. I laughed at the concept of add-on-itis and was sure I could avoid it. How naive I was.

Merely a few months later, I started thinking how nice it'd be go back to Disneyland more often ... and after some creative accounting, I made an offer on a VGC contract.

And now ... I have to curb the desire for more points. Because Riviera looks beautiful, and oh, I'd love a contract at one of the Crescent Lake resorts ...
