I don't know why we put one up. It took us 2 weeks to decorate it, we put the lights on maybe 3 times, headed off to Disney, and came back and it was Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm thinking about taking it down. DH and girls headed off to the golf course so it's just me and the dog, a lot less stressful for taking down ornaments
Well we have been called all sorts of names like scrooge and the like because our tree was down mid Christmas day. I know people don't understand why.....but to me it has to come down early because it drives me insane to have my house re-arranged. I like the tree at night but in the day I just find it annoying so after a month of having it up it had to come down.
Ornaments are off, whew! So much easier without the threat of a broken one thanks to the kids. This way, if they break I have no one to blame but myself . Now, I have to get all those dang poinsettas and berry sprays out, then the ribbon. Then, onto the CHristmas Village, waaaaaaaa! WHy, oh why do we overdecorate each year?
DH is actually taking it down as I type. It's the first year (in 32) that he's actually taken the initiative and is removing the ornaments. I asked if he wanted me to help. He said "No, you decorated it. I'll take it down. Besides, I'm bored and need something to do." What a great guy!
Did I mention mine is real? And it is 10 1/2 feet? The 1500+ lights are off, the tincle in gonna make a mess! Oh my you should see the needles in there YIKES! Now when DH gets home, he gets to get it outside... in the pouring rain the needles and tincle will fall over the new front porch he built.. oh gosh he is gonna be yellin LOL!!
This is the first year in a long time that I decorated the whole house, so undecorating took quite a while. Now the furniture's moved back, the carpets are clean and the boxes are out in the garage.
It's amazing how big my livingroom looks now.
We took our stuff down on Saturday, DH and DD did the outside and I did the inside now the totes just need to go down to the basement.
We could all be like my dear Auntie, she just takes the ornaments off and leaves the tree and lights up all year
Still up as of Jan 1, probably will be up untill half the needles have fallen on my floor... I'm so happy to have a love tree this year! I never take them down till after my b-day anyway (Dec 30)
