Did you start Back to School Shopping yet?

I don't think we are doing back to school shopping this year. I have sooooooo many leftover supplies still new from last years sales, his Gap backpack is still perfect as is his lunchbox and the clothes thing..well I just bought a boatload of new summer stuff so he can wear that until October probably.

Our tax free shopping week starts the 22nd. You can get books, school supplies, clothes, shoes bags, all tax free.

I finished my shopping yesterday, got the backpacks ready to go & now just have to wait for the few uniforms pieces I needed to get/replace to arrive from JCPenney's. :cool1:

i have made the school supply list already
and as for clothes he wont need much as first but he will need some pants and sweaters

that's what's so interesting about the internet.

up here in the northeast, school just ended and the whole summer is ahead of us. down south, you're already gearing up for the new school year.

my older dd will be a high school junior in september and younger dd will be a freshman.

now that they're in high school they don't get a list of supplies in advance. we'll buy some notebooks, paper, locker organizers, etc before school starts. some teachers will make a special request, which we'll buy after the first day of school.

as for clothes...I think both girls have essentially stopped growing, so most of what they already have will be fine for next year. so we don't have to do major back to school shopping...they'll buy some new things just before school starts, and add to that whenever the shopping bug bites.

Mostly done now. Walmart had some great prices! Just need Kleenex, dividers and shoes for the older one now. The younger needs a pillow/blanket for naptime.

If anyone wants to donate their old backpacks, just PM me and I'll send you my school address. We can wash them right there at school. Our kids rarely can buy all of their supplies even, and often don't have enough for backpacks.

I saw a list for another district yesterday. They have on their lists the usual things and both broad and fine tip washable markers, broad and fine tip permanent markers, EXPO markers, and a REAM of copy paper. I think that district has decided to have the kids supply EVERYBODY.

I just came back from getting some MORE supplies!!! Staples had a great ONE PENNY sale so I picked up a few more things.

Not us :) I go back to school September 5th.

I hit that sale also! :cool1:

I was not planning to start shopping this early, but there's no way I could ignore those prices.
I was able to pick up
60 folders
12 boxes of pencils (12 in each box)
9 pencil sharpeners
all for a grand total of 84 cents. :lmao: :lmao:

Yes (for myself as a college student), I started at the beginning of summer. It's easier on me if I get a couple of things every other week, but I have yet to do my major shopping trip. That won't happen until August.

Im waiting for Nordstroms anniversity sale. :thumbsup2

I was over to the Mall and everything is now Back to School. Yesterday at Wal-Mart they just finished getting everything sit up as well. Was wondering how many of you have started shopping. Now is a great time to pick up some end of the season sales! :teeth:
My kids just got out June 23rd! I have not even started to think about back to school shopping yet.

I hope it's for the week. I didn't see any signs saying it was for one day only.

I'm planning to go back and pick up more folders and pencils. I figure the more I buy, the less I have to ask my student's to bring in.

Sadly, by the time I get my son's supply list, all of the great sales will be over. :guilty:

Our stores haven't even HINTED at BTS yet. The kids have been only out a week. :rotfl2:

We finished all the school supplies 2 weeks ago at Walmart. I'm going to sound so grinchy but I truly loathe shopping for school supplies. Our Walmart is always packed, so I figure the earlier, the better.

Clothing-wise, dd1 is very small for her age, and grows slowly. Also, where we live is warm through mid-October. Therefore I don't buy her clothes for back to school, until later in the fall, if she even needs anything. I enjoy shopping for her throughout the year, so we don't have the traditional back to school clothing shopping.

DD2 is a baby, so she doesn't need anything yet.

Went to Walmart yesterday and picked up some of their sale items (pens, crayons, markers, paper etc...) we don't get our school supply list until school starts so I hate to get binders or folders... I'm bound to get the 1 1/2" one instead of the 2" one!!!

I headed over to Old Navy this afternoon & picked up 3 pairs of clearance jeans for DS11 for $5.99 a piece & two ringer tees for $2.97 each!

Our schools post their supply lists on the school website. Your systems might also.

I actually might go back later in the week to get some extra folders and stuff in case there are some kids that are not able to afford any of these things. I don't make much money myself but the prices are great and every kid likes to have new things to start a school year off with.
