Did you see this!!!!

I have a question.......why can I NOT find any info about the Tower of Terror 13K on Disney's Endurance website anymore? Did they swap it out for the Everest Expedition? Interesting......

Didn't think it had been out there yet? We have the dates from the flyer of 2008 events we picked up at the expo. They didn't figure registration would open until March.

I'd like to send them an email too... we have APs this year too!
Can you guys tell me what the address is?

OH I AM SO IN!! We get off the Member cruise on 9/25 and were going to extend our stay for a few days for Food/Wine and MNSSHP!! I am soooooo doing this!

Cobbler,

We are planning on doing this too!!! I plan on doing a lot better this year than last year at the TOT.

Oh that's a hard one. To not know about the cool races or to know about them. :lmao: There are sooo many cool races to do and not enough time and definitely could use more money to spend on those cool races ;)

We are now watching airfare for 4 trips LOL

Minnie
DL Half - no i'm not signed up but if i spot a cheap cheap price i'm so there!
E.E.5K
RFTT 10K

I won't start watching for Marathon weekend air for months yet LOL

Oh and you can try whispering about the cool races but I like the rest around here have excellent hearing when it comes to races and medals ;)

Thanks, I knew I saw the date posted somewhere and was surprised when I didn't even see it listed under the events.

I would love to do both, but it's probably not going to happen.

Yeah I sure am. I think I may have even convinced hubby to join me. The distance will be shorter than the ToT so that is at least good :)

I wish I could do RFTT or the ToT this year but I can't get back down there so soon after coming back. At least I don't think so . . . . ;)

I just wonder what the obstacles will be...
trying to get around a family reading the map in the middle of the walkway?
balancing your ts tray while trying to get condiments because you sent your family to find a table? :)

This sounds AWESOME. We just got back from Disney. Have Minnie weekend planned, I definately HAVE to do TOT again, I am signed up for the 2009 full and now this!!!! I seriously need to move closer to WDW (I mean 3 hours isn't bad but I still have to stay overnight which turns into 3 nights because I have to tour ALL the parks too!!!!) I read the team info to DH and he seems interested.

Hi my name is Tricia and I am addicted to Disney endurance series races!!

Might have to use some of newly acquired DVC points...... :rolleyes1

I clicked on the "Contact Us" button on the web site to inquire if there would be different pricing for AP holders who do not need the theme park ticket. I also asked about the expiration policy on the ticket. IF we have to pay for it, and IF it doesn't expire, we can always use it on another trip since we don't always have APs.

Anyway, I'll let you know what I find out. However, I think the more people they hear from about this, the better. It just seems silly to shell out the cash we do for APs then pay for a take-it-or-leave-it ticket as part of a race registration.

Our only experience is this year's marathon - they don't do this with any other race, do they?

CUTE!

I emailed them also, asking if there will be an option without the ticket. Maybe our voice will be heard. This race sounds fun!

I hate running. I only run because I've just completed 2/3 of a triathlon and I have to get to the finish line somehow.

OK...I can totally relate to that!! :)

This EE race sounds like fun....the vibe I'm getting from reading the info is that it will be a little more like an adventure race, or one of those Urban Challenge/Dare type things (www.urbandare.com), what with the "obstacles" and passports. Did Urban Challenge twice (Austin and New Orleans) and had a blast!

Sk8ing mom...what part of Alaska are you in? I work in Ketchikan periodically.

Do you think there will be an age limit? I would love to do this with my family! DH and DS 11

I was contemplating the TOT run, but this sound fun. Plus the timing is better. My next 1/2 marathon is Nov 16th. Traveling for the TOT then doing the 1/2 might be too close together for me.

I got this in an e-mail:

The Inaugural Expedition Everest Challenge will take place September 27, 2008, in the shadows of the attraction's Forbidden Mountain. The new 5K race includes obstacles and a search for clues, leading to stamps in an Expedition Passport, all while avoiding the abominable snowman, the Yeti. An exclusive after-hours party at Animal Kingdom will be held at the conclusion of the challenge. Registration for the event begins February 15. A two-person team can register for $195; solo trekkers pay $100. Each registrant will receive a one-day, one park ticket, a Champion Tech-Shirt, a three-month trial subscription to Men's or Women's Health; admission to the exclusive After-Hours Party, and a commemorative Inaugural Medal for all Finishers. Sk8ing mom...what part of Alaska are you in? I work in Ketchikan periodically.

I'm not in Alaska for a few years - DH is military. We had to move last summer.

Our home is in Eagle River...we're renting it out right now. We also lived in Kodiak for a few years. We're stuck in northern Virginia right now. We both work in DC. The only good thing I have to say about it is it is closer to WDW.

I've been to Ketch a few times. I like it, although it seems to have the same constant rain problem as Kodiak.

sk8ing mom...I see...just reread your profile thingy that says you are 4K miles from AK...I was reading it as AK being 4K miles from WDW! duh.

Yes, Ketchikan is rainy. But I'm only up there 4-5 weeks a year.
I suppose there is a bit more opportunity for triathlon in Virginia for you, though, than in AK! Are you doing any of the Disney tris? I'll be down for the 70.3 in May.

I am definitely IN  I signed up for the full this year and had to cancel due to personal and work obligations and I was so bummed about it. I have to run at least three Disney events in 2008 to make up for missing the full. Okay what else do you guys have for me...cause I'm on a mission to burn the rubber on the bottom of my Nike's !!!

And we missed seeing you this year, too!! :goodvibes
Check out the mileage game, Kim. You can still sign up, log miles as a substitue. We'd love to have that smiling face around here more!!
