Has anyone paid for room and tickets with their Disney Visa Points? I have been saving those points, but it seems like I will never get there! Looking for inspiration :worship:

We stayed offsite and bought our tickets seperately, but I paid for most of our food with either the Disney Rewards Dollars or Disney gift cards I received from Chase. We had about $620 on cards, which we received as bonuses for for signing up for Chase Visa cards. We loved it, we didn't have to pay anything out of pocket until about day 7 of our 10 day trip. We even used the cards to pay for parking.

I haven't paid for an entire trip, but last visit I had $750 which made a HUGE dent!

We go to DL every year. Each time I cash out about 350 in points to pay for the majority of food. I'd probably have to save for awhile and skip cashing out for a few trips. I'd rather take a smaller amount and cover food than save them forever and run the risk of losing them or something.

Last August we used points for 9 nights at FW Campground (cabin,) 1 day golf cart, food in the parks (not much, we are not big Disney food eaters, but went to Downtown Disney a few times), some groceries at the on-site store, tickets through YES, and souvenirs. We had accumulated just about 2000 points over 3 years. Anything that could be paid with a credit card without a fee, I charged. I was very diligent about paying the entire balance every month. It took a long time, but it is possible. I'm not so sure the 1% is worth it though. I like the Delta Skymiles Amex rewards card better. You can use your points like cash for airline tickets, car rentals, and hotels and it is 1 point for every dollar spent. Only catch is that after the first year there is a yearly fee.

We accumulated about $1600 over about 4 years before our first trip. I don't think it covered it completely since we were newbies and booked at a time when there were no discounts or free dining but it was pretty close. We considered it our "almost free" trip.

I have never paid for the entire vacation using my Disney Visa reward dollars. I suppose that if I saved them for many, many years I would eventually have enough. At a rate of 1% back, it would take quite a bit of spending to get the amount we would need for even a cheap trip for two.

We have been saving but it will likely be our spending money rather than paying for the trip.:cheer2:

For our trip last summer, we had GAD passes that covered the first day of our trip. We upgraded to 10 day passes for all five of us and paid for it with Disney Reward points. We had another $200 left over that we used for for snacks. Not the whole trip, but I was thrilled.

We have accumulated $224 since our trip last June. That will go towards a few meals and drinking around the world next month. :thumbsup2

We go too often to be able to pay for an entire trip using points alone.

BTW - We put almost EVERYTHING on our Disney Visa and pay it off at the end of each month. Love having the "free" money to spend in the World!

Well, to pay for the vacation we are going on IN ONE WEEK (eeee!! ), I would have needed to charge about $300,000. So.....no. LOL

We are using the (debit card) rewards for souvenirs. Each kid is getting $70 ($10/day), and I have enough left over to cover tips.

We went in December and the only thing I paid for was the plane ticket - DVC owner, annual pass and the food was paid for by the reward dollars that I accummulated over the past couple of years!! :cool1:

On our last trip, we had accumulated I think close to $300.00...Not a lot but it helped to buy our drink in the WS and helped with tips at meals! :thumbsup2 Every little bit helps!

Our last trip, I had about $600 in rewards from Chase, plus about $350 from Sunshine Rewards. paid for our hotels. we got our tickets from undercover tourist, so couldn't pay for those with rewards. But it made a huge difference.

Never a whole trip, but three adult PAP's every other year and a TIW card as well.

It never paid for the wole trip but sure does help when we check in at the Polynesian.

The first time I used my rewards was to pay for a one night stay at PoP Century. Then I used the rest of my rewards to buy souvenirs at WDW. The next time I used my rewards was in January. My husband and I both earned rewards from seperate accounts and used them to pay for part of our dining plan. I put everything on my card and pay off the balance in full every month. I think it's great because you are getting something back for your spending.

I haven't paid towards room or tickets w/ Disney Visa points, but I have almost $500 so far to use for food on our trip in May. It's taken about 5 years to accumulate that much, although we weren't using the Disney Visa as our primary card for some of those years.

I prefer to save the money for room/tickets other ways & then charge those things to my Disney Visa to rack up more points. :thumbsup2

i think i tried to get it before but couldnt because i stay in scotland and you can only have one if you are in america. i think:confused3
