The main reason for lots of availability is because your dates are still past 7 months. So as of now, only home resorts can be booked. In about a week everyone in DVC will be able to book your days. As long as your flexible I'm sure you will find a room somewhere. However you may not be able to take advantage of your home resort.

Ohhhh I didn't even think about that for her, I knew May was 7 months out and it was first time using the resort availability tool and I figured it wouldn't show me what I couldn't book.

Yes and finally got closing docs today . In the mail now still should close by the 10 th oct they say .

We got our closing doc and sent them back last week, the company got them Friday. I thought we would close that day, but she said it would be the first of this week. I emailed today to ask if we would know (our contracts said Oct 6 closing) and apparently our sellers thought they sent the docs last week, but are just now putting them in the mail! So frustrated!!

We bought at GVC in hopes of going there and we have points that will expire Aug 1, so I'm nervous we're going to miss the window!

OrangeBirdGirl - is there any way you could check to see what the availability is like at GVC in a one bedroom for last week of May/June/July?

Thats right- I didnt even realize the booking window hasnt opened yet! Silly me!

UPDATE!!!! We got our closing docs today! I can only hope for a ridiculously fast process from here on out!

9/11 - received notice that I passed ROFR
9/19 - received closing docs from title company to complete
9/20 - mailed out check and documents to title company
9/24 - received notice from title company the contract closed
9/29 - received hard copy of signed closing docs and title information

Got home today and in the mailbox was my letter from DVC telling me my membership number and stating my cards will arrive in 10 days - 2 weeks. They had a # to call up and make reservations if I choose.

I am a current DVC member, this was my 2nd purchase. I logged into my DVC account and it automatically added this 2nd purchase to my account, I just have the drop down to select which resort.

Hopefully everyone else gets their soon.

So you have a different use year or you titled the deed different. Disney gave you a 2nd member number.

Yes different UY. Which is fine for use as I plan on keeping each contract separate and not needing to combine for stays.

Another update here. Today I received my new membership cards in the mail for the 2nd purchase. On a side note, not sure why they did this but they also sent me another set of my first membership cards (in a separate mailing).

Our close date was originally set for Monday but I haven't heard anything. Is this typical? Should I contact the closing company? Do you think this means we didn't close or are they just slow at notifying you?

I ended up emailing the closing company and TSS on Thursday and it seems the sellers were "traveling" and haven't returned their paperwork. They were supposedly being mailed on Friday. Crossing my fingers this is all true and we can close the first half of this coming week!

BTW we are Ohioans too!

Awesome! We are up north by the lake! I havent heard a thing yet- I feel like I have called/emailed a million times throughout this process- I'm trying to be patient but we wanted to book a trip for May and I am slightly nervous that what remains of availablity when I can finally book will be slim pickings. If I dont hear anything by Monday afternoon I'm going to contact them.....again....
