We are trying to decide between the packages- Picnic, Ariel's Grotto, or Wine Country Trattoria.

I realized that I haven't seen anyone say that they truly enjoyed their WOC package meal. So what did you pick, did you enjoy it... did you enjoy it enough to eat it even if a WOC ticket wasn't a part of it?

We had 4 different types of picnic meals, 2 of them from the child menu.

My DH had the taste of asia one and he said it was good. I had the fried chicken and don't ask me why I had this idea that the chicken was going to be hot. :sad2: It clearly states when you place the order that is it COLD honey fried chicken. I was in for a dissapointment, but it was my fault.

The kids liked theirs.

Haha, I saw the photos and I assumed that fried chicken was hot too!

I will say the AG meal is the same as what they serve for lunch when the princesses are there... and we really enjoy that meal & fully intend to have our WOC meal there.

We went to WCT last Tuesday and the food and service were excellent. I had the beef and DBF had the chcken and both were wonderful. Especially the gorganzola cheese potatoes! And, DBF had a pomegranate (sp?) lemonade that was included in the package price.

I loved my picnic meal! Of course, I got the kid's power pack, and what's not to love about yogurt, string cheese, goldfish, apples, and a cupcake? Plus a free light up WoC bracelet!

Other members of my family got the Asian, veggie Mediterranean, and the European Antipasto. My dad like the Antipasto okay, it wasn't anything great. No one else really enjoyed it. We wouldn't do it again.

Hi!

When we went we bought the picnics. One Asian and one Veggie. Both were bland, and not very good. But we had really bought them to facilitate WOC so it worked out great.

Would I buy the picnics without the WOC 'tickets'?? NO! :) But I think Disneyland food, in general, leaves a lot of room for improvement!

We made reservations for Wine Country Trattoria on opening night of WOC. I have to say, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!! The food was elegant, delicious, gorgeous. I would love to eat there again. We even did a video review of the WOC menu at Wine Country Trattoria, which I can't post a link to, but if you go to www youtube com / amouseandadream (without the spaces) you should be able to find it.
Hope that helps make your decision. What a fabulous place!
We'll be dining at Ariels for WOC next month, so we'll review there as well!

We also had our WOC dining package at Wine Country Trattoria and it was amazing. There were four adults and two kids in our party and we all enjoyed our meals. It was three courses and was well worth the $39, even without the preferred viewing of WOC.

My large family of 10, did the Ariel's Grotto dinner & it was by far the best meal we had all trip!! The service was excellent, the food was delicious & we'd gladly do it again.

In my trip report I have pictures of the food & our experience there:

We had the Ariel's Grotto meal and thought it was really good. especially for the price the chicken and tri tip were the best. Plan to do this again in December it was that good. Also wanted to mention soda/juice/milk are included in the price. Enjoy- the show is really good!

We really enjoyed all three of our picnic meals (didn't try the asian one). We also liked our meal at Ariel's very much. The bread and appetizer platters were delicious, there were several tasty choices for the entree, and the small-bite dessert platter was perfect, since we were very full by the end of the meal. I really have no complaints about our food with either option.

I'll be going solo, so I am thinking the picnic will be the best choice...I think!

I thought the honey stung chicken picnic was really good. I agree the chicken would have been better warm, but the meal was tasty. I think if it had a biscuit or roll of some sort it would have been enough to call a "meal". At least for me - and I am a pretty big eater.

I went with 4 teenage girls in July. We tried all the picnic adult meals. Everyone liked their own meal and was satisfied. Soda was included as well as a reusable tote. Got us WOC fast passes and we needed lunch anyway. There was no wait to pick up our meal and we ate it on the patio there. We will do it again in October rather than waiting for fast passes in line.

We all loved our Ariel's dinner. Even the two teenage boys. There was yummy bread in addition to the fancy appetizers. The dinners were good and we all enjoyed sampling different desserts from the dessert tray. We sat outside and it was beautiful! The nice meal and the preferred WOC area made it well worth the splurge of money for our family.

DBF and I shared had The All American and Taste of Asia picnic meals. He thought it was one of the worse meals we've had at DLR. I didn't think the food tasted that bad but I wasn't a big fan of them either. The portions were very small and I would much rather have had something hot. But for $12.99 each (with our APs), it was okay, especially since they came with WoC passes. Would I buy them again? Probably not...

We had the WCT meal and loved it, we will definately be going here on our next Disney trips, I couldn't fault any part of the meal. My mum doesn't even eat salad all that much and she ate hers in literally about 3 minutes, I was in shock :rotfl:
