...that underneath Walt Disney World there are miles of underground access tunnels so that cast members and staff can move freely without spoiling the magic of the place?

I'm sure that I was told that they were to be found under Animal Kingdom too?

Actually, they aren't tunnels. They are the first floor with the park level actually being the second floor.

That sounds sweet! How much do you have to spend for that kind of special treatment?

Yes. Yes, I know this. Yes, I knew this 30 years ago.

Yes, I knew the tunnels are at ground level and MK was built elevated above them.

Its not actually that much. Like $100 the last time I did it I think. It's totally worth it too. Very fun way to spend a morning.

I just thought it was an interesting factoid!

Don't worry about it, Domo. A lot of us here are such super Disney nerds that there's not much information like this that we don't know. A lot of people here wouldn't know this though, and it is interesting. I had known for a long time about the "underground" tunnels, but it wasn't until I was on here regularly that I learned that they weren't actually underground and, as mentioned above, MK is really a huge two-story structure.

I refuse to do the tour though because I worry it will spoil the illusion. As far as I'm concerned it's all magic!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I've known about MK being multi-level for years and I'm so, so curious to see it. But a big part of me doesn't want to for the reason you said.

I appreciate you wanting to keep the "magic," but it's kinda more magical to see how it all works...for me at least. I'm not known for being the queen of magical thinking though:)
