Did you know that car manufactures put an arrow by the gas tank symbol in your car to show you what side your gas tank is on? Something I learned not long ago. :lmao:

What other fun facts do you know???

I knew that!

Did you realize the cardboard holder that aluminum foil and plastic wrap come in have tabs you push in at the end to keep the roll from falling out when you pull?

LOL! I did not know that FOREVER!! I felt a little silly when it was pointed out to me :)

My wife actually pointed that out to me a few years ago when I was frustrated trying to figure out what side the gas cap was on in a rental looking out the side view mirrors. :headache:

I thought the fuel indicator thing was a hoax. Newer cars may have an arrow, but it is not true in all cases. :confused3

They have been in every car that I have rented in the past few years (since my wife pointed it out). I travel a lot - probably talking about 20-30 different makes/models. It is usually just a little triangle next to the fuel gauge on the dashboard pointing left or right.

Well now I'm going to have to look at my gas gauge next time I get in the car!! I had no idea.

Did you know that you can just about obliterate the "blind spot" on each side of your car by positioning your mirrors correctly. For the driver's side sideview mirror, lean over so that your head is touching the door window and adjust your mirror so that you can just barely see your rear fender. For the passenger's side mirror, lean over so that your head is in front of your rearview mirror and adjust the sideview mirror so that you can just barely see that rear fender. If adjusted correctly, as a car passes you, you should be able to follow it from the rearview to the sideview (it will show in both for a split second) and from the sideview until you see it at the side of your car (again, you'll see it in the sideview and at your side for a split second). And you can do this WITHOUT turning your head!

I have a related one:

MOST (but not all) of the time, your car's exhaust pipe will be on the opposite side as the gas tank.

I told someone about the arrow that indicated the side of the gas tank recently. They thought it was the most amazing thing in the world. lol

Doh! Now I'm going to be looking for this every time I drive. :rotfl2:

Did you know that the most common street name in US is not Main, but Park?

It probably works more for newer cars. My 1999 Ford has it, but my wife's 2000 Chevy does not. The older Fords at my work also don't follow the "rule."

I JUST found out that my hair dryer cannot go with me while I'm in the bathtub or I could die from electric shock. I found this out by a tag hanging on the hair dryer.

;)

The arrow was on our '98 Saturn that recently died on us-not all that new of a car. It is on both of our current cars and the 2 separate rental cars I have had in the past couple months.

My 15 year old pointed that out to me recently..I never knew that.

Did you know that:

If you wear a Superman costume, you still cannot fly

A Planter's Peanut bar may contain traces of nuts

Pepper spray may irritate eyes

You should remove your infant before folding your stroller

Piglet is not a pig!

I never knew the gas one. The aluminum foil one blew my mind when someone told me that not too long ago. I have been telling everyone I know about that ever since!
