Did you know that Small World was originally sponsered by Mattel.

I know that several trivia sites say this, but it's not entirely true. Magic Kingdom's IASW opened with the park on October 1, 1971. Mattel didn't begin its sponsorship of the attraction until 1991, and it only lasted until 1999. Mattel also sponsored Disneyland's version during roughly the same time period.

Did you know that Paul Winchell (the original voice of Tigger) won a Grammy in 1974 for "Best Children's Recording"? It was for the song, "The Wonderful Thing about Tiggers". That song should have won a Grammy for Song of the Year!!!

DYK that The Country Bear Jamboree was once sponsored by Pepsi and once they stopped their sponsorship Disney never bothered to remove the line "We've got a lot to give" which was based on the old Pepsi slogan "Pepsi's got a lot to give"?

Did you know that "Feed the Birds" (from Mary Poppins) was one of Walt Disney's all-time favorite songs? Robert Sherman, the composer of the song, said "The point of the song- that it doesn't take much to give a little kindness- was what really registered with Walt." Awwww!! I love that!!

Did you know that Its a Small World is the longest unsupervised ride, meaning there are no security cameras in Its a Small World.

I could have sworn i saw cameras in the ceiling tile during my our last trip. (i'm an architect, so i'm annally pointing these things out to my wife). I could be wrong though.

Did you know that Bette Davis and Angela Lansbury were considered for the part of Mary Poppins? This was because P.L. Travers, the author of the Mary Poppins books, wanted the character to be cold and intimidating (like the Mary Poppins in her books). Walt Disney eventually decided that the nanny should be cheerful and warm. This decision outraged Ms. Travers. (I am very tempted to comment on this, but I won't. )
