I just called Disney Dining to get some more info on this.
The CM w/ whom I spoke said that Cinderella has always been the only confirmed character but other characters
can make appearances. This particular CM said that she has eaten there twice - Once w/ just Cinderella & Mary Poppins & once w/ the other princesses as well.
But, she seemed like she was kind of hedging, so I went ahead & scheduled PSB for dinner on 1 of our nights. I totally didn't want to, but DD likes all the princesses not just Cinderella. So, we're eating at CRT for the "castle" & at PSB for the guaranteeded princesses.
We've got the dining pckg, and this new table meal I've just booked screws up our count - now I've got 7 table meals (1 more than our "credits") & 5 counter meals (1 less than our "credits"). And, I really just didn't want another table meal - w/ PS's, you have to be at a restaurant at a certain time which cuts down on your "free" time at the parks or your resort. But, after you've told your DD that she's going to eat w/ the princesses, what can you do?
Question - What does the Norway restaurant serve at dinner?
I'm really starting to get a little disenchanted w/ the whole Disney PS system - you have to make your PS's 90 days in advance well before park hours are out. Once park hours are out, it might change your plans but your can't change those "hard to get" PS's.
And, I really don't like them changing the meals after I've booked. They should have an "effective" date for meal changes, and, at the time of booking, you should be told. Changes to the character meals shouldn't be made retroactively. I *know* that there are always some unforseeable changes, but completely changing the structure of the character meal isn't very customer friendly, imho. I worked really hard to get a PS for CRT, and, if there were going to be big changes to the meal which would effect that date for which I was booking, I should have been notified when I made the reservation. And, I'm not faulting Disney for making changes to the character meals. That's absolutely fine. But, I spend lots of time researching to decide at which restaurants & character meals we want to dine based on published information. So, if there are changes, I think it's only fair that I should be told of the changes (if they will effect our "dates") when I book.
And, it's not like we go to Disney every year, so, I can't say, "Oh, well, we'll get to eat there next year . . ." That's not an option for us.
Hopefully, once we get to Disney, I'll forget all about this hassle. Although, when we go begrudgingly to the PSB dinner & then, later, in the week, all the princesses show up at CRT anyway, I'll probably be a little miffed.
