Hi there! For all the ladies who had columns in the WP, how many did you have down the aisle and how many at the altar? How many is too many, whats just right, etc? Could you post photos? Thanks! :worship:

We didn't have our wedding yet but are having six all together, two (one on each side) at the beginning, middle, and end of the aisle. They will be draped in white skirting and have floral displays on top (which will then become our centerpieces). We are also having two floral displays on the altar with the unity candle in between, but no columns up there. I think 6-10 is a good amount.

we had 8 all together, 4 on each side and I think it was perfect. We didn't have any near the alter since I didn't want to compete too much with the view, so we just had the alter arrangements and the unity candle.

Sara, as always thanks! Everything about your wedding was gorgeous! I have similar taste to yours and I love everything you did! I love your tall candelabras Im just not sure I could afford them. Correct me if Im wrong but didnt you go with outside floral? Whod you go with and about what was your total? Just curious!

So far Ive got 4 columns on each side of the aisle and 2 at the altar for a total of 10 colums, and they will be draped with chiffon and topped with our centerpieces (as of now) that look like this.

And they will be on colums that look like this

We will have petals scattered next to the runner

Does anybody have any ideas or thoughts on how to improve the overall look while staying budget conscious? Of course I would love tall candelabras but Im worried about prices since we are bringing in silk floral. Although my mom is flip flopping and is starting to lean on going with fresh..so really it could be anything at this point..:confused3 Do you think what we have is too much? Please honest opinions!!

TIA Ladies! :thumbsup2

I did use an outside florist, the amount Disney wanted was insane, they wanted over $10k for all the floral. I think at one point I figured out that the centerpieces were going to be over $500 each.

In the end we probably spent about $2.9k, but we had to get a lot of personal floral and we needed 8 centerpieces.

We used Lee Forrest Designs, and he was awesome and exceeded all of my expectations and then some. I am so glad we used him, he really is amazingly talented.

I can't seem to get a picture posted - but we just used two at the alter as well. It was suggested by Rosie to have the two up at the front on either side of the alter, because if we only had floral on the alter, we would be standing in front of them for the ceremony and the pictures wouldn't look as nice.
We were pleased, and both coloums had a vase with beautiful arrangements that complimented my bouquet and we gave each vase of flowers to the mothers at the end of the evening :goodvibes

I'm in love with your aisle runner! Where did you get it and do you mind if I ask how much it cost?

Thanks so much! I love it too!! :lovestruc We actually bought the runner online for about 20 or 30 dollars, then went to a printing shop in town that does screen printing on shirts and jerseys for all of our sports teams around, and had them put it on the runner. Its not a screen print though, its some other process of dying the fabric..so it looks better. and since its so large, the guy wanted to use the big and fancy machine since the smaller one could have messed it up or something. i just took their advice and did what they thought was best. we walked out paying about 13.00 for the printing. :scared1: I was expecting around 100 or so, needless to say we were pleasantly surprised! Its great!! HTH, let me know if you have any more questions about it!

Sarah! Do you know how much it costs to have the columns plus the fabric draped on them? They look so pretty that way! :lovestruc
I wasn't planning on decorating the WP at all, but now I'm second guessing!

:scared1: Is that really all you paid!? Well it came out beautifully, I had to show it to my sweetie and now he wants one just like it :rotfl: Did you design the print yourself?

I am in LOVE with these!! If you don't mind me asking....how much did all that end up costing you? Thanks!

Elle, the floral proposal for 10 columns with chiffon draping with taxes included is 133.10. Such an inexpensive way to decorate! The floral on top of the columns is where it gets pricey. Hope this helps! :)

Harley, yes it really is all we paid. Dolly (JTandDolly) created our logo for us and I just sent the file to the printer and they smacked it on there. Easy Peasy!! Im so glad that you like it, thanks! :goodvibes

Thanks! We used an outside florist, so it was a lot cheaper than Disney. The arrangements were $175 each, and the columns were $15 each. The alter arrangements were $50. Similar arrangements with Disney would have cost us $330 for the centerpieces and I think around $20 for the column. We didn't price out columns because they had suggested the tall candelabras, those were $85 each for the rental. Alter arrangements would have been $125 each, but I think those arrangements would have been bigger, I know with Lee, he was initially thinking around $100 for each but I had wanted them smaller.

Who was your outside florist?
