Did you go to your Prom?

I showed up they played Elvira as the first song so me and my dateless buddys left .:rockband:

We only had senior prom. I went to DH's prom (I was a soph. at the time) and DH went with me to my prom. :)

I went to prom my senior year. It was a lot of fun, that's for sure. I had turned down the year before for a weekend long babysitting job that I had... wound up getting paid about $150 for a weekend long stint. Far worth it to go to that ;)

I went the next year with my best friend. That one was a blast as well! I just enjoy dancing and having fun like that, so I am glad I go to go :)

I went to a private church school that didn't have proms. :sad2: You can really tell all my years in a church school did me so much good. :rolleyes1 NOT! :smokin:

I went to my Jr. and Sr. Prom. Don't feel bad about not going, because the only thing you missed was two nights of really bad fashion. :rotfl2:

Well, Dmslush, let's hope your prom is everything you hoped for, and that you don't get your heel trapped in your dress, and fall down a short flight of stairs, landing with your skirt nearly over your head, into the laps of two flirty businessmen who were having drinks at the restaurant, and blowing you kisses and calling you beautiful right before you tripped. Then your date drives you back to his place in his brown Chevy Chevette, because he just wrecked his brand new "cool" car (Toyota Celica) that morning, and gets you pregnant.

Not that I have any experience with that, or anything.

Hope you have a great time!

Same here! No dancing, you know what evils THAT leads to! We had Banquets instead. :woohoo: Yeah, those babies kept us honest and innocent! good grief......... :smokin:

I went to my Sr Prom with DH.. we were high school sweethearts. Seriously overrated but I would have regretted not going.

Okay, we are getting ready to head out in a little while. Have any of you ladies worn one of the shaper slips? Hello, putting this thing on my fat body was like trying to stuff one of those 5lb tubes of hamburger into a 1lb sausage casing! I think I might have pulled a muscle or two :lmao:

Another here that went to Jr & Sr prom. My DH was my date for both proms and we've celebrated 10 years of marriage to boot! :goodvibes

As Senior Class President, I was kind of obligated to go. Not only did I go to my Prom...and I know that it's totally lame and embarrasing...but I was crowned Prom King! The spotlight dance, the cardboard and velvet crown, the whole deal. :lmao:
All that being said, the whole Prom experience is way overrated...the after party is definitely where it's at!!

Have fun! I get the feeling it will be more fun for you than the real thing was for those of us who went! I went to two proms, one in my hometown and the other at the HS I graduated from.

I have to share this AWSOME prom memory that I am so glad I didn't miss:

My very best friend was hated by virtually everyone in the school, except me and them my mom died and I moved 750 miles away. Needless to say she had a bad time of it. When she found out I was coming back to their graduation, she found me a date for prom and then wondered about herself, because everyone at school hated her. Well, her now BIL who is 4 years older than she told her he would get her a date, and boy did he ever. The guy was a Junior in college and was the dream guy type, sooo hot Chemistry major, and did I mention HOT!!!! It was the best walking into that prom and seeing every person in the place with thier mouth hanging open! It was straight out of some teenage angst 80's movie and it happened in 1991!!!

I went to my senior prom with one of my best friends. We didn't want to spend alot of money since we were going as freinds so we decided to see how little we could spend and still have fun. My mom made my dress and he found the coolest vintage tux at the Salvation Army store. This was back in the 80's when thrifting was new and you could find really cool things for like a buck. I think his tux cost $5.00. Those were the days. Anyway, we had dinner at the Wendy's he worked at and his boss gave it to us for free. We had a fancy tablecloth and napkins along with a HUGE silver candleabra with 7 candles. It was such a hoot. Instead of a Limo we went in his Smurf Blue Volvo :thumbsup2 and I mean SMURF BLUE. (For some reason his dad had painted it the summer before while he was away on a church trip.) I think the whole night only cost us like $50 including the tickets!

No. I went to see Raiders of the Lost Ark. I believe that was probably more fun, but then I was a total geek loser. Probably still am.

My boyfriend and i went to two different high schools...We went to my senior prom and a year later we went to his...
Come to think of it, my prom was 20 years ago this year... :scared1:

Why did i reply to this thread?!! :badpc: :lmao:

Yes, I went to my Sr. prom. Nothing was going to stop me even if I did have to ask someone to go with me. Looking back, the boy I asked was definately the wrong choice. I should have asked my best male friend at the time. He would have been glad to go with me. We both wonder why we just didn't go to the prom together. :confused3

My memories of prom are crunchy green beans and my date thinking I would be an easy lay. I proved him wrong! No home run for him, not even 1st base. :teeth: At least I made my dress, no big bucks spent here on a lousy night.

On the other hand, my son's prom was last Saturday night. He had a great time and he and his girlfriend looked great. He wore a black suit and she a $400 black and white dress. The after prom party was not as fun, real crowded, long lines, especially in the casino. But he got $50 for going. Every kid there came away with something. Most of them $50.

Nope. Prom at our school is such a ripoff. Plus I was never really a big dance person. :confused3

Oh yes, yes! I went both years with my steady, Joe, who was IN COLLEGE...OOOOOOoooOOOOoo so cool! :cool1:

Anyway, we had a blast. So much fun! The afterparties were great, too. I had a wonderful, wonderful time in high school. :woohoo:

Looking back, the difference in my (and his) outfit Junior year and Senior is tremendous! I was dorky in Junior year :rolleyes1 and hot Senior year!!

Fabulous memories. My prom was 30 years ago this May. OH MY!!

You got that right! :teeth: That's all I'm saying. :rolleyes1

Nope, didn't go. I was not then, nor am I now, a dancer. I was not then, nor am I now, one to dress up. I was then, and am more than ever now, a bit anti-social. I mostly enjoyed high school, but my level for nostalgia for that time in my life is hovering just above zero. :confused3
