Did you get your faxed room requests?

3 days to go and I just faxed the room assignor at the Polynesian. I requested any room in Aotearoa, Fiji or Tuvalu. We paid for a garden view. How likely is it that I’ll get what I have requested? Has anyone else done this? What result did you have?

For the past 3 years we have been forturate enough to have all our requests honored. We have stayed at:

AKL
CBR
POFQ

If they don't automatically give you what you ask for, ask the CM at check in again. We wanted Zebra Trail 3rd Floor at AKL and when we checked in we were assigned Kudu trail. I asked if there was anyway to get Zebra and it was no problem. I don't think the room requests always makes it to the assignor. They are very accomodating. Good Luck!!!

When I stayed at POR 2 years ago, I faxed in a list of about 6 room choices 2 days ahead. I'm glad I had a long list, because I checked in so early (about 6 AM) that I had to settle for my fifth choice.

We stayed at CBR in 2001, faxed request for corner room with King bed in Bldg 45, received corner room, king bed, Bldg 46, which was fine.

Stayed at AKL in 2002, faxed request for bunk beds, standard room was what we paid for. Stated it was our first trip to AKL and DH, DS and I were really looking forward to finally staying there. We received complimentary upgrade to savannah view. Absolutely beautiful!!!

Haven't been disappointed with what we received either time.

We had been there 5 times before I even knew we could fax requests!

We stayed at ASMU. I faxed in a request to be in Jazz, and did not get it. I was too tired when we checked in to see if anything was available there, so we went ahead and took the Rock Inn.

Before we left, I upgraded our next reservation to a preferred room in Calypso because it was a long walk anywhere past there after a day in the parks! Well worth $10 to me!

I have never faxed in my request and in the last 3 years we have gone over 15 times and have always (OK about 99.9%) of that time gotten what we wanted. It helps to ask when you get to the counter. Usually the CM will point to a map and tell us what's available. Faxing is probably a good idea, especially if there are certain things you absolutely want. We are guaranteed a non-smoking room and other than that, it's usually just location for us. I also pay the extra for Calypso at Music too.

we are three for three. however, i highly reccommend you pick the most important thing to you and not over request. some are more common than others....

our first trip we were staying at okw and id gotten all kinds of tips. the most important thing to us was getting a suite with a second bathroom access, the first building aparently didnt have it, so that the baby could be asleep in the bedroom and we wouldnt wake him passing through. i also asked for pool and lobby convience. well we got the pool and lobby convience which meant we didnt get the second bath access. but i called the front desk and they moved us right away.

I tried this several times and it never worked so I stopped bothering.

I've almost always gotten all of my requests when staying in concierge rooms, especially at the Polynesian and the AKL :)

We got our requests both times we faxed them. The first time at CR N Garden Wing, I requested a ground floor room close to the playground, and we got exactly that. We were about as far as we could get from the main building/food court, but I didn't ask to be close to it. Last month, within 2 hours of faxing my request, the room assigner from CBR called me because part of my fax was unreadable and she wanted to confirm what I was asking for. I got N Trinidad, she assigned it while on the phone with me. I had requested close to food court/pool and not too far from a bus stop, but asked that they pick the best location for me since they knew the resort and I'd never been there.
I don't know how much it helps, but if you will be there for any special occasions, mention it in the fax. Our first trip just happened to be during our 10 yr anniversary, and this last trip was within 2 weeks of both children's birthdays and I mentioned it was a birthday trip.
Happy Planning!
