Did you get what you think you paid for?

We are big Disney fans and are very happy with our DVC membership.

We are very happy about our purchase. We never have looked back and questioned our decision. I can't imagine not having DVC in our lives. My kids totally love it, we love it and everyone that we have brought with us love it. Without DVC, we could never vacation at Disney on a yearly basis. To me staying in a luxury resort is perk enough for us!

We love our DVC ownership....always enjoyed visiting WDW even when staying offsite or at the AS value resorts. Certainly can't beat the rooms at any/all of the villas!!
We have noticed a definite difference in the upkeep at the parks, though. Bathroom cleanliness hasn't been as good as I rememberin the 90's...as theatre/tv people, we've noticed production quality changes...like lighting that isn't working at MGM...lights not focused...pointing off to nowhere...normally, that would have been fixed/maintained. DH noticed Rocking RollerCoaster lighting wasn't the same as originally designed (lights were missing). Guess you'd have to be really in to that to notice, but DH definitely is. There was a lot of industry info out on that particular lighting design....so he noticed that it wasn't up to spec. any longer. (No.....I didn't notice anything different!)
Sure hope they pull it together again....hate to see the Disney magic wearing thin. :(

We've been regular visitors to WDW since 1973. The only regret we have is that they did not build the Beach Club Villas earlier. We've stayed at most of the resorts on property many times. When we discussed DVC membership, we knew BCV was where we wanted to be, and we just had to wait.

We both love "walking home" after the fireworks at EPCOT.

I bought our initial points as a surprise Anniversary gift to my wife. There we were, sitting at the sales table, listening to the sales pitch... at the conclusion, I said, "I want to buy this many points and this is how I want to pay". She looked stunned (probably thinking where is he getting that money from?), but I knew she wanted BVC, I did too! Scored many points for THAT surprise Anniversary gift! PLUS, I didn't have to wrap it!

And I paid for both the original points and the later add-on with my credit card so I got air miles for every dollar!

I would like to see DVC develop some of the surrounding properties in Anaheim for members. Maybe that will happen someday.

For me, there is no warmer greeting than pulling up to the guard house and hearing "Welcome Home".

Nah, I'm totally pleased with DVC!

We became owners in 1992 and think it was a great investment for our family. We got those free tickets has a bonus when we bought, those free tickets alone almost matched our purchase price.Still have many years of great vacations to look forward to at OKW and Disney.::yes:: :wave2:

And when we first walked thru the door into our 1 BR Unit we just stood there in amazement. It was great. We don't regret anything!::yes::

One rainy afternoon while walking the Boardwalk we decided to kill some time and see what this Disney Vacation Club was. Having been to so many timeshares in my life I said to the guy...okay...whats the bottom line? He said there was no bottom line...this is what DVC is and we don't haggle prices......well I listend and me, the old tightwad, looked at my husband and said...ok....let's do it! He looked up at me and said REALLY????? And that was the beginning of our "Magical Adventures". Our first trip was with our family right on the Boardwalk. My baby daughter's 21st birthday. The following year we went cruising for the first time for 7 whole days with a verandah view...just the two of us! Never in a zillion years did we ever see such beautiful blue water nor did we ever think we could afford such wonderful accommodations! Yes it's been six years into DVC & many add-ons with many memories behind us and definitely many more to come. I don't cry anymore leaving Disney because I know I will be back again and again and again. And we are looking forward to someday having grandchildren to spoil and enjoy...but for now....it's the two of us having a ball at Disney....or maybe taking the kids or family. I'd love to have discounted annual passes so I can enjoy the flexibility of coming and going thru the parks but for the time being just staying at the Resort is good enough for us.

So...did I get what I thought I would get out of Disney....NO! I GOT BETTER!!!!! How do you place a $ on smiles and memories? I just can't wait to go back!

So Maistre Gracey, what do pigs roll in WDW? Pigsydust? (Sorry, it's still very early here...)

We love WDW, especially the Poly. I made the DVC plunge a year ago because I hope to continue to go yearly, with perhaps an occasional venture elsewhere on points.

After our first trip home I am very happy we joined! The BCV is nice, especially SAB and its close proximity to Epcot. After reading these forums I am not so sure that using the points elsewhere is a wise choice, but we'll see. Maybe Hawaii in a few years.

I tease my DH that our home away from home is here in NC and that our primary residence is the BWV:faint:

We purchased our first interest in 1999. DH's birthday and anniversary present to me last year was another 100 points so I guess you could say even the skeptical one (DH) beleives in the magic.

We love being able to take our daughter, my parents and our friends and their family to our laughing place:cool:

There really is no place like home:earseek:

We have been members since 1993 and have never had any regrets!!!! As a family, it keeps us going away together which in turn keeps us very close and that is a wonderful thing. :Pinkbounc
