Did You Get This Letter From DVC?

We got a letter today from DVC Member Services that starts out by saying: "We are pleased to have the opportunity to entertain you at Disney's Old Key West Resort this fall!"

then the letter goes on to tell about the pool closing and where you can pool hop to, etc.

The problem is, we don't have a ressie at OKW this fall. Either they have made a mistake or there first sentence is written using a very poor choice of words, as it is misleading. Obviously got home too late to call MS, so will have to wait until morning.

We have not received any such letter. We will be checking out on 9/1.

Yes, we received the same letter today, and our next reservation isn't until December.

Hopefully the pool will be open again by then.

I was on the phone with MS today and asked about the pool construction schedule. I was told construction is scheduled to begin around September 6 and continue into December. We'll be there September 28 -- October 13 so it will affect us.

With luck they will finish early and you'll be one of the first to use the new slide.

The letter did state that the main pool area, including the spa, kiddie pool and playground will close beginning Sep 6, 2004.

Well, hubby solved the mystery. We rented out some points and the renters will be at OKW in October.

So, I guess I need to let them have this information.

Duh, don't know why this never even dawned on me.

Yep, we got it too. We're staying at OKW the week after Thanksgiving. I doubt they will be done by then, so we'll just make due. Besides, even here in Texas we don't swim in December! (Well, I don't, but I think my kids would if you offered it to them.....)

I too will be at OKW the week after Thanksgiving. First trip with my two year old nephew. The kiddie pool closure will affect us, but we will be hopping to BWV or maybe even SSR when we spend the day at the pool, othewise we will be using one of the other OKW pools.
Inconvenient, but a unique way to experience other resorts.

Yep, Got one today. My Wife and her girlfriends will be down in November for Super Soap Weekend. Not much time in their schedule to pool hop. They will be busy looking for the hottie soap guys!

Of course they have standing orders to look up my fav hottie soap girls!

Just got ours today and we'll be there in first week of November. Too bad they don't have an alternative kiddie pool onsite.
Lucky for us, our "kids" are pretty much grown up sized by now

I was told the rehab construction for the new slide could last till Jan no solid dates but just that it could go into the new year. Sounds like the rehab that is scheduled for SAB around the same time and it goes till Feb. We have some points rented out for Oct and got our letter yesterday.
