Did you get "pool heat" in the summer?

Just trying to decide if we should pay for pool heat for a Sept 11 trip?

If we don't, I assume the hot tub/spa will be cold as well.

If you get pool heat, does the hot tub heat up to hotter than the pool?

I'd ask where you're renting if the hot tub is separate. When are you going to be swimming? The average high in Orlando in September is 90 and the average low 71. I'd rather have an unheated pool in the evenings when those are the temps, although of course that's an individual thing.

I'm one of those that always likes pool heat because it keeps the pool consistent, especially if you want to swim in the early morning or evenings. Some homes/pools are able to separate pool and spa heat, so ask if you can have spa heat only. Spa heat is a definite!

Only problem in September is if you have a lot of rain it will cool the pool down. Otherwise, it should be rather warm at the time you are going, so you would be okay without it as well.

I find that no matter what time of year you go it is always best to have pool heat.

My kids don't mind it without but both my husband and I prefer the heat.

I agree...we pay for pool heat as we figure there's no point cutting back on our enjoyment just to save a few bucks. We love using the pool at our rental home and it wouldn't be the same if it was too cold to go in.

We just returned home from 2 weeks in Orlando. This is the first time in a villa (twice before in a hotel). The only thing I was disappointed in was the pool temp, it was freezing in the morning. The afternoons was a lot better as it was 91F outside, but it didn't stop us using it,we just jumped in and took the shock !

When I was researching rental homes, I was originally looking only at Windsor Hills. You might want to consider also the surrounding resorts. I ended up going with a home in Emerald Island resorts and it was much more than I ever imagined and it was cheaper than any quote I was able to get from Windsor Hills. The resort was absolutely gorgeous!!

We loved it so much that we're going back again next year and this time we plan to spend more time at the home.

I rented it for $1,200 (includes all taxes, pool heat) for 6 people. I also had use of a grill, wifi, themed room for the kids OMG.....the list is endless. There was no way I could get this anywhere else I vacation.

tiggerbaby, what home did you stay at? I'd love to see how it compares to what I've been looking at in Windsor Hills.

The *low* during late August/early September is 75. The average is in the mid-80s. There is no way the pool will be cold, or even cool. Usually, it's uncomfortably warm. And, in the summer heat, I'm not a big fan of hot tub/spa. With the heat and humidity, you're walking around in a hot tub all day, why sit in one at night?

So, I wouldn't get pool heat in September, but I might pay for someone to bring around big chunks of ice to throw in the pool to cool it down.

I reccomend not to get pool heat from June, July and August. May and September are touch and go depening on the weather.

Of course if you want to use the hot tub at night then you would need pool heat.
