It was one of my favourite programmes when I was a teenager and I had a huge crush on Pete Dual!!! ;)

1971-73 TV series Alias Smith & Jones and its lead actors, Ben Murphy and Pete Duel who played Hannibal Heyes and Jed Kid Curry.

Edit: No pics as they all come out as red crosses :(

I remember that show! I used to watch it too.

I loved that show, but forgot all about it.

Not a great fan of westerns but that show was special and Pete was my favorite, also. He died by suicide while still filming the series.

They had reruns of it not too long ago here in the Orlando area.

I barely remembered it until I saw something on tv station about it.
I guess Pete Dual killed himself.

I had a crush on the other guy. (Nevermind that I was a kid and did not have good taste then)!

Talk about a blast from the past!! I haven't thought about that show in years. It was one of my favorites when I was a kid.

I think that it was on Saturday evenings too.

One of the reasons we remember these special TV shows is that most of us grew up with the TV's with the rotary dial. That meant a maximum of about a dozen channels, but, of course, people actually only got probably somewhere between 2 to 8 channels. Lots of us grew up without cable - remember "rabbit ears"? lol

I remember (in no particular order) right off the bat: Laredo, Laramie, Gunsmoke, The Ed Sullivan Show (we'd all chorus: "And now. . . dead (live) from New York. . . " when he came on LOL), also: Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In, Hogan's Heroes, Bewitched, and oh, I know I've forgot a whole bunch more........

And, of course, you had to actually be there to watch these shows, too! There was no such thing as VCR's (oh, I guess that should be DVD's now. . . .) :teeth:

Yes, and Ben Murphy visited my friend when she was in the hospital, many, many years ago.

I CRIED for DAYS when Pete Deuel Died....he had a Brother named Geoffrey, wonder whatever happened to him? He was cute too.;) Is Ben Murphy still around? Do you all remember who replaced Pete.........Roger Davis!;)

He lived in a rented house in the Hollywood Hills, and his landlady took us through it about a week after he died.
They hadn't pulled the carpet up yet, and you could see where it happened.

I think that his brother Geoffry is still in show business. And 'Alias Smith and Jones' was Peter's second series.

Now, for the trivia question........... who was Roger Davis married to when he replaced Pete Duel in 'Alias Smith and Jones'? And which actor did the federal marshall's voice at the beginning of the show?

:p :p :p

Lets see.....ANN MARGARET?! Don't remember who did the "voice" though.

I watched the show but didnt have a crush on them. My crushes allways have breast

No, I didn't watch it (I might've but I was 1-3 yo in 71-73:o ). I did watch the E! true story on Peter though.:(

I remembered the name of the show, but I couldn't remember the show until John posted that picture. Yes! I loved that show!

Wow! Memories of warm nights with the huge window fans and cold iced tea sitting around the huge console tv are flooding my brain. :p

That's so sad that one of them committed suicide. :(

and my favorite character was Ben Murphy. THe show was a lot of fun when I was a kid. It didn't last all that long though. Roger was married to Jacklyn Smith. But I don't know who did the voice.

Duckfan gets the door prize for guessing right on Jacklyn Smith as the spouse!!

And the actor that did the federal marshall's voice at the beginning of the show was James Drury from the Virginian (if anyone remembers that show.

How about "Cimmaron Strip"? That was another of my favorites as a kid!!
