I would have been beaten to a pulp had I done that, so NO!

I did get risky once though: in order to avoid a chemistry test, I had a friend call as my mom and get me dismissed after fifth period once. It wasn't worth it, though. I live in too much fear of getting caught during and after.

In high school I never once skipped a class. We had open campus for seniors back then so for at least that year, we got to escape enough during open periods.

2nd semester senior year they made a mistake with my schedule and gave me 3 open periods instead of two and a study hall. I had from 10:45am until 2pm free every day! If I skipped a class, I might have been busted and been forced into a study hall. So I went to class.

Now college was another story. When you have an intro to psych class with 1200 people in it, they aren't going to miss you. So all the skipping I didn't do in high school, I made up for in college.

Forgot about college...yes, I skipped many many classes :rolleyes1

I skipped on senior skip day. I took a few 'mental health' days. And I skipped with another friend one day when the bus didn't show up. Our parents weren't home, so we just went back her house and played all day.

It was deliciously fun! We were being such rebels. I think it was 6th grade.

Guilty!! Same class too--intro to psych. It was so boring! :rotfl: :rotfl: I usually ended up in the library instead though, so it wasn't like I was off partying during that class. ;)

Nope my mother would have beat the tar out of me. She let me take Senior ditch day off, but only after she verified that most of my friends parents were letting their kids do the same.

Mine was heredity. This was the class for athletes and people who suck at science. Only went on quiz days and still pulled off a B. Sometimes, curving the grades aren't a bad thing. ;)

Never skipped school. Not once. I was always afraid I would get in trouble. I was a good student, in student government, in a leadership class. Never had to skip my senior year, but I was gone so much at school sanctioned events. I had perfect attendence my senior year, but not so much "in" class.

BFF and I would "leave' our leadership class several times a week to go to BK for lunch. We were in charge of changing our schools marquee with school events. We would get done, go get lunch and then get our stuff from class right as the bell rang. Technically we were not supposed to leave campus.

In high school skipped a couple times and went to my boyfried's (now my husband) house. He had already graduated, but was living at home while going to college. I was really sly about it and thinking back now makes me realize how I have to watch my DD like a hawk when she's that age. I definitely don't want her to be doing that!

In college I definitely skipped some classes. But you really have to figure out which classes you can skip and not get too far behind.

We would skip and go to the lake during the warmer months. When I was in drivers ed, the teacher would drop me off at my house instead of taking me back to school. During hunting season, several boys would skip to hunt.

I answered the question presuming we were being asked about high school. I only "skipped" one day of HS, all four years. It was senior Prom day, which for an unexplained reason was scheduled for a Friday my senior year. All the girls called in absent, and it didn't count as unexcused.

Through out my school and working career, I have been absent only very rarely, unexcused or otherwise. I last was absent for my own condition this past June, when I had surgery on a Thursday, which is my scheduled day off, and returned to work the following Monday. Before that, I hadn't missed for my own illness for years. My son's illness is another story.

I had a course in undergrad, however, that I completed all the assignments the first week of the course. It was a computer programming course that was a prerequisite for other courses I needed. For the remainder of the term, I just showed up on exam days. I was at school those days, but, didn't waste my time listening to somebody "teach" me what I already mastered. Of course, I got an "A"; and I have nightmares to this day that go something like I'm scheduled for a course that I haven't been attending, and missed an exam. Not worth it.

Yes. One time a friend and I skipped out to get our hair cut. Kinda hard to cover it up when you come back with new hair...word gets around fast. We did a lot of stupid crap.

In college, when they threw logarithms at us, I told a friend how lost I was and she said she'd been lost when it was tossed at her, too, and had to play catch-up. I asked, "Where were we in high school when they did this?" and she replied, "We were probably at the mall." :rotfl: :headache:

But we did have fun. :)

Never skipped up through high school. Did miss a few classes in college, but there was usually a good reason (who wants to get up at 8 am on a monday for a boring class? Haha. No seriously, better reasons than that.)

I skipped a few times my senior year but our parents knew about it. I skipped classes more. Usually a study or a other unimportant class. I did get permission through! :thumbsup2 My senior year I had enough credits to graduate already I just needed the English credit. They make you fill your periods, So I took English, Chem 2( because they wouldn't let me take 2 studies), Chorus, Select Chorus,Theater Production, and had a study...I had good grades and was always quiet and respectful so my teacher would never question me if I wasnt there. When I did show up my study teacher would tease me about actually being there and then he would give me to note to go to the library or to hang out in the music room. I think I was in study twice my senior year and both times we had a mean sub...

I was also in the Drama club so my director would give me a note to get out of class to help with the set..if a teacher didnt have any classwork I was allowed to leave ( usually at least once a week) .During show week we would do a production for the middle school kids.. we would miss all the morning classes and would be expected to go to the last 2 classes of the day which was my study and English. I had an female english teacher and would show up to class in full makeup ( because we didnt have time to take it off) and she would give me and another girl a note and tell me to take our time getting cleaned up and then go rest for the show.

Nope, I was afraid of my parents, plus I liked school.

I did skip once when I was 17. They had an annual "fun run" of 10 miles at my school. The seniors had to marshal it - no problem with this. Anyway myself and the few others who had cars were pulled to one side and told to bring our cars as we'd be driving around checking everyone was OK and bringing back anyone who was injured. I told them no, told my mother I wasn't prepared to do it, she agreed and I stayed home.

Frequently, guess we just had better things to do :confused3 the administration looked the other way...we were all honors students but sometimes would just rather go out for Breakfast then to class (or to the beach, disney, the mall, etc. etc)

I voted rarely. When I got my license, I just walked off property when there were Pep Rally's, I couldn't stand those. My car was parked off school property and the school officials would only be concerned with the student parking lot.

11 and 12 th grades, I went to 2 schools. one was my regular high school where I took a couple regular courses, for part of the day, then go to a magnet school where I learned Child Care and Government.

Well, 11th grade, we had a sub at the magnet school and she was a former drill sargeant, I kid you not. Once a week we would have kids in the classroom with us to give it that child care feel, but this day the kids didn't come. This sub had us pretend the other high school students were kids and we read to each other and snack time, at the time it was degrading.

Oops, forgot to add: this magnet school had students from at least 3 different high schools so sometiems if that school had a function, they wouldn't go to the magnet school.

A month or so later, we arrive at the magnet school. One of our classmates said the drill sargeant was there. I don't remember who thougt of it, but everyone but this one girl skipped and went to the nearby area near a museum. We could have actually gotten away with it, but the one girl who told.

I had 3 days of ISS at my regular school and my teachers were all shocked I did it. Then we had to go to the magnet school and see our regular teacher and explain to her why we did it. Needless to say, the drill sargeant never subbed for us again.
