and if so, what for?

I was talking with some friends and had to admit that I never got detention at all. *shut up snoopy LOL* :D

Did you ever get it?

I was sneaky. Never got caught.

Uh....except for the time I was sitting in my boyfriend's lap, french kissing him under a tree at recess in 9th grade. Man, oh, man....did I get in trouble for THAT one....:p

Yup.....I had detention for that one!!!! LOL LOL LOL

Yep. Once :o Hey, for this honor student (aka geek ;) ) it was a traumatic thing! :p

I basically got busted for talking all throughout class -- finally the teacher got fed up enough that she busted me.

I think I had detention more than my regular classes. ;)

Usually I got it for skipping class. My homeroom and 1st period classes were the same, but I'd show up for homeroom and leave before 1st period. I was brilliant.

Should I even admit how lame this was?
Freshman year when we got our pictures taken, I wasnt buying any but still had to return the form. I forgot the form and got detention for it. ROFL! I was a rebel.

I never got caught doing the bad stuff, just the stupid stuff.

Yes, and it was totally unfair. My classmates got into a food fight and two of us weren't involved. The whole class got detention. I told the principal I didn't feel that it was right for me to have to serve and she said "you should have stopped the food fight." Yeah, two people can really do that when thirty people are involved. If I'd known at the time that I was the one paying for my tuition (I had a trust fund from being hit by a car when I was five that I didn't know about and all my tuition came out of there), I would have outright refused to go to the detention. Instead, I spent two hours scraping gum off of cafeteria tables.

Yup. Got busted in the bathroom, blowing smoke rings, which incidentally weren't tobacco smoke.

Stupid silly days of yore........ I was a product of the generation who let their freak flags fly, I guess........

My best friend was always the one who got busted though. No matter what she did, she got caught. Plus she had a problem with authority, so it was always the parent conferences, etc. going on for her. I remember her once making a statement regarding wearing her gym clothes, she just out and out refused to wear those hideous uniforms, and of course they made a big deal out of it and suspsended her.

I got detention for being pokey. I had swim class (which I detested) and took too long getting dried off and dressed. My next class was music and I was late. The music teacher asked me for my pass and I told her the swim teacher told me I didn't need one. Of course the swim teacher and I had no such conversation, but I thought I was pretty slick.

Music teacher talks to swim teacher - grinningghost gets detention.

I got detention once in 7th grade. The teacher from the class before let us out really late since he was mad at the class, and I walked into my next class about 5 seconds late. This teacher hated me since I had mono at the beginning of the year and I was pretty lazy and missed quite a few days of school. So she gave me detention just for coming in a little late.

Nope, never had detention, not that I wasn't worthy of receiving a detention or two. ;)

I remember having to sit in the corner in second grade for talking. That was horrifying for me. :o

Nope. Not that we had detention then we were just sent to the Principal's off ice which I never had happen for being in trouble. Got called once he wanted to start a group with some good kids. I thought I was going to wet my pants going because I couldn't think what I had done to get in trouble. Small town I knew that if I got in trouble then my parents would find out and then life would not be worth living then. Now college I did do some stupid things.

Snoopy!!!  You go!!! :teeth:

We called detention "sessions" and yes, I got sessions. My first time I was in 7th grade and didn't do any science homework for the first 3 terms. So I had a session everyday (2:30-4:30) for the 4th term...amazingly i still passed 7th grade

In High School I got sessions for skipping class and getting tomato sauce on my housemaster (the floor was wet, i slipped!!!!)

Nope. Not once. I was a real goody-two-shoes in school. There was one time that my class got a group detention, but I happened to be out sick that day, so I didn't have to serve time.

I'm with Steve H. A detention would have traumatized me a great deal.

For the record, I never got paddled either. The fear of getting whacked by that wooden paddle kept me on the straight and narrow for 12 years.

OMG, I guess I am the only serial detention getter around here. My cousin and I had so many detentions that we never bothered to do that we had to come to school and clean for a week after everyone else was out for the summer:eek:

We had dentention for mild things though, uniform not correct, being late for school (we had to have Dunan Donuts coffee) and maybe a couple of almost caught smoking but not quite (being caight would get more than detention).

We were even asked to talk to the girls in detention after we graduated....I don't think we did much good;)

Oh please, I cannot believe that I am one of the bad kids here. How did that happen? I always thought of myself as a good kid but I certainly had my share of detentions. Maybe they handed them out easier at our school. Anyway, I got so many of them for so many different things that my sister started signing them for me so my mom wouldn't find out about them. (You know, I'm starting to sound not so good here, I'd better be quiet, lol)

Nope, in highschool I literally papered the inside of my locker with detention slips. And I generally signed my mothers siggy.

On a side note, after more then a few detentions for being late to school (we live half a block away) I grounded one of my sons for 3 days for detentions. He was miserable as it meant no surfing.

Yep, but I did not deserve it!

I was in the girls bathroom when some girls were swinging on the bar above one of the stalls. The teacher (who always had it in for me  ) gave everyone in the bathroom who wasn't actually urinating or defecating at the moment detention.

I was on my way out. I had gone to the bathroom, washed my hands and was on my way out.
