Just curious. If you did, were you busted?
One of my sons came in late to school because he decided to go surfing in the morninig. He wasn't thinking that I work at the school and of course would find out. The attendance officer sent a note to my classroom asking where my son was. He just got grounded and lost his surf board for awhile. Poor baby. LOL.
I know I did it a few times got busted finally and never did it again.

yes i did it and yes i got busted. i got detention. :o

maybe this should be on the true confessions thread. :o :o :o

Since my mom reads and posts here on occasion, I'm not saying anything!

I will say though that at my high school, they didn't care. They pretended they didn't see you, and you pretended you didn't see them! That way, everyone was happy!

I skipped school only once, Senior Skip Day and I was sooooo nervous the whole day. My parents never found out, but after going through the day worrying about getting caught I knew I would never do it again.

I did it once in HS. My gymnastics coach saw me skip my last class of the day, and leave school early with some friends. When I went to gym practice later that day, he told me that I needed to go see the principal. I assumed that my coach had told the principal that I skipped class. I go see the principal being as remorseful as can be, only to figure out that the principal had no idea that I had skipped class, and that my coach had set me up to confess. :o I got a detention, and didn't skip any more classes (well, not until college...;) .

I did once and didn't get caught. The friend that I cut with worked in the office during her study hall so she 'signed' me in the next morning. We went ice skating for the day.

Never cut the school. Just for the simple fact that the school called your parents if you weren't in school and the school was across town from our house. Also, we had quite a few stay at home moms that would have noticed me coming home in the middle of the day.

Never in high school. And in college, I only missed classes twice: 1. On election day, 1976, to work the phones at Carter/Mondale Hdq.
2. To watch Hubert Humphrey's funeral on TV.

no, never did. I had too many things going on at school that I couldn't even if I wanted to.

I skipped school a few times, but they were "excused". I pulled a Ferris Bueller a few times. The key is to start "symptoms" the night before--more believable. Also, my Senior Year, we had special Senior Projects where we went off-campus to a local business to work on our projects. Those were excused, but we would usually not go back to school even though we were supposed to. They had no way of knowing anyway.

lets see, the first time I cut school was when I was in first grade. I think I dozed off during math and panicked when I woke up...had no idea what the teacher was talking about. I got the bathroom pass, hung it on the bathroom sink and took off for my friend's house...she was home sick. only thing was, I didn't know where she lived exactly, just knew what direction it was in. I got hopelessly lost and had to stop at a block house (they were called that...they had a little sign in the window that let you know they were safe to come to if you were lost or whatever). I didn't want to tell the lady exactly where I lived because I didn't want to get caught, but she made me.

didn't cut again until high school. I became adept at forging my parents signature, and would occasionally create a note for myself saying I had to go to the orthodontist (ahh, the good thing about braces, all of those appts.). I never got caught, but my sister tried the same thing...she used her own handwriting and was nailed.

I would cut an occasional college class...never fell behind because of it.

Yep, quite a LOT! They added a rule while I was in high school that if you were in homeroom and not in a particular class for 3 times, you'd fail! So we just skipped all day instead :earseek:

Never! Why on earth would someone do that? :confused3 :sad2:

:rolleyes1

Guess I'm the naughty one so far... :o I used to skip all the time in high school. A friend of mine always used to do it with me, and more times than not, we had other friends tagging along, just different friends at different times. I guess that was my rebelious time.

I regret it now, but it's too late. :( Although we did have fun and rarley got caught. Our parents were... hardly ever home to notice or get the calls.

It's too bad I didn't know then what I know now! :teeth:

Yes, I skipped on occasion... no, I never did get caught... and sadly (or maybe to my benefit) the teachers didn't notice/care when I did, so my Dad was never notified about it :o

I spent a lot of my senior year at the lake! I had AP classes and the whole nine yards. I don't know how I did it now and kept my grades up. We used to leave a lot 4th block also because a lot of us (my friends and me) were teachers aides.

I skipped school a few times in high school and boy, was I ever busted by the school. My parents never noticed which was odd considering I came home once totally sunburned. We spent the day at the beach. :)
