Did you ever consider naming your kids something else?

Had either DS been a girl they would have been Kylie Ariel.

Cameron Austin was originally going to be Cameron Alexander.

Colton Ryan was still being debated in the delivery room. We had a tough time with this one but it came down to either Colton Ryan or Dylan Colton.

My Boys love their names!
I wanted them to have strong Texas names that they could grow into. Before they were even born I chose their names by prefixing DR. before them and chose which Dr. I would see if I only knew his name.
Funny I know, But sometimes when I go through those HMO provider books, I skip over Doctors or Dentists based on name unless I have a referral or reference.

My oldest is Chadwyck Lewis. Middle name after his paternal grandfather's middle name.

My youngest is Chaseton Donald. His middle name is after my father's first name, as his middle name was Leroy!

They attend a christian daycare and the director refuses to use nicknames. So they have grown accustomed to being called Chadwyck and Chaseton and that's how they introduce themselves so it hasn't been a problem. sometimes we call them Chad and Chase at home, but only occasionally.

If they were girls they would have been Cherish Rianne or Taylor Rianne.

If Megan had been a boy- I wanted to name him Jacob. We agreed on Kyle instead. My first choice for a girls name was Chelsea Whitney... dh hated it and named her Megan Alyssa.

Jack (whose name is really Jonathan) was going to be Rebecca Rose if he had been a girl. Our first choice was Will (no middle name chosen) but my bil kept saying "Sweet Willy" and I freaked so we named him Jonathan Timothy aka Jack.

I liked the names Cindy and Becky but I worked with a woman who was very mean to me and both of her daughters had those names. So of course I couldn't use them because I didn't want to be reminded of her for the rest of my life.

So we ended up with Carol Anne for our daughter. My husband thought of that one while driving down the street one day and we never changed it.

We knew that if we had a son that he would be called Arthur after my grandfather and we put James in front of it in honor of my husband's grandfather to end up with James Arthur.

My mother-in-law tried to get the nickname of Jimbo to stick for my son. I would just ignore her and the name finally went away. Had I protested, the nickname would have stuck.

i wanted to name my dd Lena after my geandmother. My husband and could not agree on it.

DH had Tabitha picked out and I had Brianna. We didn't like each others names at all. Well we were still arguing over it when I was in labor. Then I started having complications annd DD was delivered by an emergency C section. DH went with DD to the recovery room while I was being stitched up. When I arrived in recovery the nurse asked me DD's name. I told her I didn't know yet and she said well your husband said Brianna, I was just checking.

something different today, if I could pawn him off on anyone! At 25, he has still not found himself, he had a wonderful carreer going as a chef, but decided to go back to his first love, drums, and now works minimum wage retail at a music store, and isn't able to make enough money to pay his bills. At least he's on the other side of the country and I don't have to put up with it. I do love him, because he is my son, but I would like to kick his butt into next week!

I wanted to name my DD "Naomi", but my husband picked out "Celia". I got to pick her middle (my last name) and her last name (DH's last name).

We only ever had one boys name picked on both occasions & one girls name that we never got to use.

But the boys names were chosen & agreed on & not changed in anyway. They both like their names too;)

The only part of the girls name that got changed was the middle name. It was a toss up between

Natasha Elizabeth Rose & Natasha Nicole.................only got boys anyway, so never had to worry about it.;)

When our 6 yearold was born I always called her Erica when I was pregnant up until the last minute, but husband decided that wasn't a name he liked much at all. I was kinda dissapointed so instead we named her Marie Danielle (Danielle after my dad Daniel) Now to this day, I'm glad we didn't name her Erica.

I wanted different names, so I picked out Ryan Nichole for my DD. At first she hated it but now she's used to it. My son is Dustin Michael (nickname: Dustman) but if he would have been a girl it would have been Randy, not sure of a middle name.

If my oldest DS had been a girl, his name would've been Courtney Elizabeth.

My middle DS would have been Elizabeth Alice.

We knew, soon into the pregnancy that my third DS was a boy so we went ahead and named him Todd. We referred to him as Todd throughout the pregnancy and then 2 wks before he was born I had a change of heart and we decided to name him Daniel. Still not sure why???:o :)

Oldest DS was going to be Matthew. I've always loved that name! However, when he was born we knew quite a few other Matthew's and they weren't well behaved so we went with Tyler.

DS #2-Matthew's middle name was to be Tyler or James. Both of which I used for Ds#1 so I couldn't come up with a middle name for DS #2. Somehow he ended up Jason.

DD-would have been Matthew no matter what! She is Allison and that is the name DS#1 would have been. She was also going to be Megan or Jenny too.

Naming kids was alot harder than I thought it would be! :)

The dog was much easier, he got my maiden name! :jester:

I gave my son (Kirk) my maiden name as his first name!!:p

If DS Erik was a girl he was going to be Lindsay Meagan

DS Kevin was supposed to be Lauren - we didn't have a boy's name that we could agree on but I liked Andrew or Austin. He was 3 days old before DH would agree on a name.

DD was Kristen from the beginning. Had she been a boy we might never have agreed on a name.

I wish I had spelled my DD's name differently. Her name is Grayson but I wished I had spelled it Gracen and I wish that I had used Olivia with it instead of Elizabeth. Why you ask? Because for DD #2 I could have used Elizabeth with Hayden (could not use Hayden Olivia because her initials would have been HOG - not gonna work!) So we went with Hayden Catherine. I love the name Hayden, but I swear if I hear one more child with a similar name, I will scream (I was trying for something a little different, but there is a Hayden behind us, an Aiden down the street and my DH works with the parents of a Khayden - enough already!) My DS is Avery Garrison but it seems that Avery has crossed over to being mainly a girl's name now. Oh well.

I complain about my name being Amy (too common) but I was almost name Dice Florine after my grandmother, so I will take Amy and run...

:D

I knew Jordan would be Jordan Allen. Had he been a girl, I liked Abigail, but nothing else A LOT with it. I laugh and tell him had he been a girl he still might not have a name :)

I knew oldest DS's name long before he was born. Luke was my beloved grandfather, and William was my beloved father, so he was Luke William. Thankfully, DH also liked that name because he would not have been given a choice otherwise. :)

I had a very strong feeling he was a boy, so much so that I really didn't have a firm name in mind for a girl. I just figured I'd come up with something if I delivered a girl.

Youngest DS was a little harder to pick a name for. We both loved the name Andrew, but didn't like Andy, so we named him Drew Patrick. We came up with that one pretty close to delivery, DH was stuck on Maverick Colt (??!!) which made me laugh since we don't play on the TV show Big Valley or live on a ranch or whatever. :teeth: I also considered Jack after my most favorite brother, but I thought maybe Jack would one day be blessed with a boy (he is divorced but has two daughters) so I passed on it. I was pretty sure Drew would be a boy too, but I came up with Ava Simone if he were a girl.

My DD's name is Kendall Noel. When she was about four years old, she asked me why I hadn't named her Kristin. I told her that it hadn't occured to me to do so and that I like the name Kendall. She told me I should have asked her before I picked out her name. I thought she was so funny!

DH is one of 8 children. His mother is one of 8. His father is one of 7. There were already LOTS of names we did not want to duplicate. They are also a big huge italian family. My roots are Irish and Scots. I wanted to get a little of my Celtic heritage in, so we were looking at old Celtic and Gaelic names. DH did not want anything too 'Off the Wall'. We finally decided on Ian Patrick. It was a toss up until he was delivered between Ian and Aiden.
