Did you ever accidentally tell someone you love them?

Use to say it WAY TOO MUCH!

Well, I must say, this thread title was most intriguing. How can you say "I love you" inadvertently I wondered but now I see. Very amusing!:

The president of our company was telling a story about this exact thing the other day.

He always says something like "love you. bye." when talking to his wife on the phone. He said he was talking to one of the vice presidents of one of our biggest clients - AT&T - when he said the exact same thing to him....."love you. bye." :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: This is hysterical!!!!

My Ex DH said it to me once, by accident. About 5 years AFTER we were divorced and about 2-3 years after we were both re-married. I realized what he said after we hung up and laughed and laughed.

JunieJay:: OMG!! Thanks for spilling the beans!! That's hilarious! Blame it on the drugs...no one can ever argue with that!:lmao:

I work in a bank and we frequently have businesses call in change orders.
We get to know the people pretty well, but not "love" well!

So one day one of the managers calls in his change order and we hear our boss say "Yes, $100 in quarters. Yep. We'll have it ready. Love you!"

Then she hung up the phone, started to walk away and then stopped, turned around and said "Did I just tell Gary I loved him?!"

I have never done this, but I had an employee who did.

I crack up every time I think of it and every time I recall the look on her face.

It went like this...

Mrs. SoAndSo had placed a special order. The order came in. My DE (darling employee) called Mrs. SoAndSo. The phone call went as follows:

DE: "I got the machine."
Me: "Just leave a message that the item she ordered has arrived and she can come by anytime to pick it up."
DE: "Okay."

A second hesitation while I start to fiddle with something else behind the counter and DE is waiting for the answering machine tone. I'm half-listening.

DE: "Hi Mrs. SoAndSo, this is DE calling from XYZ. I just wanted you to know that the item you special ordered has arrived. Please feel free to pick it up any time. Our hours this week are 10am until 7pm every day. If you have any questions, please call us at 32830284. Okay. I love you. Bye."

The look of horror on DE's face - OMG - I'm literally ROFLMAO just thinking about it. I can assure each of you that DE will, forever, until the day she leaves this world, look back on that episode with complete horror.

BTW - Mrs. SoAndSo never did come and pick up her special order.

LOL!!

My DH and I had been dating for a little bit and I was moving back to Mass--we had said we would see how well the long distance thing held up

Well the morning I was leaving,I had just finished loading up the car and was looking around my apartment for the last time then went to unplug the phone--I decided to call his cell and leave a message before I hit the road and as I was saying "Bye" I also slipped in an "I love you" and hung and just stood there in horror staring at the phone!!

The next night I arrived at my parents and had promised a phone call no matter the time to let him know I arrived.

I was terrified to call that boy back!! He ended up calling me and gave me crap about how worried he'd been---as we were getting ready to hang up he said " I have to go for now,I'm not supposed to be on the phone,I'll call you later...Oh and I love you too.

And we have been together ever since--He teases me that he was the first one to say it and I say "No I did" and he says "No I did because I meant it"

The first message I got on my first cell phone (only 2 years back) was from a man saying how much he enjoyed my company and how he loved me but it's just so hard to say in person :confused3 (I was married and had never looked at another guy) he never left a name or number, just a simple "call me back" from a blocked number. I figured it was one of two things: a guy fighting with his girlfriend attempting ot make up or the cell phone company just thanking me for choosing them. Safest to assume it was the phone company :goodvibes

Our son did that accidentally a few months back to a wrong caller. He's used to my husband calling him after school, so when this stranger called our number by mistake, he told him, sorry you have the wrong number, then he also added love you!
The man goes..uh..I love you too?
We didn't let him live that one down for some time.:rotfl:
Kim

I did this once to one of my teachers, in front of the WHOLE CLASS...so then I threw something at him.

My BFF say "I love you" every time we talk on the phone. If I forget, I call back. I'm one of those people who's always afraid that if you don't say "I love you" to someone, you'll wake up in the morning and they will be dead.

My boss refers to me as his 'work wife'. It is meant as a compliment, and that's the way I take it. We work great together and I feel appreciated that I am able to help me and make his life easier. He just started in the position about 6 months ago with virtually no training. We were in a store the other day, adn the cashier even asked us if we were married because we were joking and laughing like an old married couple.

The whole 'work wife' comment is funny...but took on a whole other meaning hte other day when he ended a phone conversation with "I love you" - :rotfl: We both hung up, and I walked into his office and he was all red, realizing what he had done - I poked my head in the door and said "I love you, too!" and we both just laughed!!!

I was doing a ton of things today and calling my friend in the middle of everything. She didn't answer so I left a message. The problem was that at the end of the message I said "I'll talk to you later... I love you", Kim. Now, of course I love her but it's not something I say to her on the phone :rotfl2: . I just left a message for my husband and it's a habit with him so I think it was still on my mind. I had to call back and explain on her voicemail  .

Has this happened to anyone else or am I the only weirdo :confused3

Yes I have done this too.:flower3:

I did it to a BF after less than a month of dating. We were standing in the checkout line at Price Club (now Costco) and he was cutting up and being hilarious. He had me laughing so hard I was wiping my eyes and I said something like "You're so funny" and then "I love you" slipped out. I immediately stopped laughing and felt like an a$$. Then HE started laughing, put his arms around me and kissed the top of my head. But DIDN'T say it back. Then I REALLY felt like an a$$. Not to mention all the people that heard it standing in line with us.

He kept calling though, and this year we'll celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. He still teases me about the first time I said "I love you" and I never let him forget how terrible I think his reaction was -- which he maintains was prompted by the deer-in-headlights look on my face when it came out. Men.
