We are staying there next month... just curious what others have to say about their stay in these rooms!

:cool1:

Subscribing, we'll be there next week and are curious. I saw they offered nightly 9pm movies in the courtyard of the Oak Manor bldg, so we called to request Parterre Place to be away from the commotion. Thanks to www.portorleans.org for the info on which buildings have royal rooms.

Me and my Mom stayed in the royal rooms two weeks ago for a spontaneous weekend getaway and by spontaneous I mean eating breakfast at Bob Evans and going I wonder if we could get a good passholder rate to stay the weekend (my mom had a rough week at work and I'm in college so sometimes we just have to take spontaneous trips because we can never plan things in advance). POR was the last moderate we had never stayed at and we decided to go ahead and book the royal rooms. We stayed in Oak Manor on floor 2 in a standard view room. I loved them I don't think me and my mom stopped playing with those light up headboards. we also loved all the little details in the room the princess pictures, the magic carpet on the floor, genie's lamp as the faucets in the bathroom, and the wallpaper borders were awesome. The walk to the main area was a short walk across the bridge. Overall we loved POR we are even going to stay there again for labor day weekend and to be honest we will probably do a royal room again just because we liked the overall feel of the room it wasn't overly princess even though we wouldn't have cared if it was, but my dad met us out there one night and he even enjoyed it.

Oh and they do show movies at 9pm in the Oak Manor courtyard we thought this was awesome we ended up watching Cars one night but it was not loud at all and to be honest there wasn't a lot of people it was mostly adults watching there I think everyone may have been at the parks;)

My 22 year-old son and I stayed in a Royal Room for 10 nights at the beginning of June and we loved it!!! We were in Oak Manor with a river view so we were overlooking the lawn where the movies are shown and we never heard a peep from the movies. Nothing...
We paid for a standard room and we were upgraded to river view. I sent a fax requesting something close to the bridge and boy were we surprised when we got to our room. We were thrilled!!
While we loved the Royal Room I probably would not pay to do it again now that we've done it once. ;)

We recently spent one night in adjoining royal rooms before heading off to our 2 bedroom at the beach club. i thought the rooms were adorable. the bed lights were so cool and you could even see evangeline "the sweetest firefly in all creation". my only criticism was that they seemed a touch small but the decorative details made up for that by far.
