We have an ADR for Coral Reef, but after reading and hearing some awful things about this restaurant, I'm starting to rethink my decision to eat there. If you've had a meal (lunch or dinner) there, please let me know what you think about it. Thanks!

My DD's ate there for the first time in April and we did enjoy it. DD20 had the steak and said she though it was the best steak she had on our trip. I had the pork chop. It was good and seemed somewhat different than the usual WDW fare. We had a lower level table and sat right next to the aquarium. We enjoyed it enough that we have ADR's there for out trip later this month.

You can find bad reviews for every restaurant in WDW. Try it for yourself and decide.

We ate at the Coral Reef in April 2007 and loved it. My boys, 6 and 4, thought the tank was amazing. Probably our best meal of the trip. I had the crab appettizer, salad and the soup, very good. DH had the chicken entree and we both thought it was great.

We were there a few weeks ago. I had the tuna which was extremely delicious. It was cooked just right and the sauce or glaze was so good. Also liked the cod cake appetizer, the shrimp pasta & creme brulee & chocolate wave. Crab claw salad and mahi mahi were good but not great in my opinion.

It was loud. Not dreadful but louder than I expected and definitely interfered with conversation at our table.

We had never eaten at Coral Reef before but decided to give it a try since we were on the Dining Plan. I had the crab claw appetizer, the tuna (delish) and the chocolate wave, which was the best dessert I had on our trip. It was almost as good as the Chocolate Souffle in Disney Magic's Palo Restaurant.

DS12 had the lobster bisque and still raves about it. He and DH had the strip steak which they really liked. DS15 had the shrimp linguine which he liked, "except for the mushrooms".

I do agree that it was loud, but we certainly did enjoy the food.

We've eaten there several time and we love the food, the atmosphere and we've always had good service.

We ate at Coral Reef last week, and everyone raved about the entrees. The apps were only ok, we all had the land and sea, the shrimp in the app were pretty boring. And desserts were average. The chocoalte wave was much more enjoyable when it came with the ice cream to cut the richness of the chocolate.

By the way the sourdough bread is amazing.

So overall we would defiantely dine here again because of the entrees and the atmosphere.

We ate there 2 weeks ago and will have to say it was surprisingly great. DH swears that Coral Reef is a must eat place next year. The steak he had was extremely good. I had to agree after sampling a piece :thumbsup2 We both had the "sour apple freeze" as our drinks. You have got to try one!! For appetitizer, I had the Crab-claw(A+) DH got the Land & Sea (A)

Had our anniversary dinner there last month and the manager did a great job for us. Food was good and the dessert she got for us was awesome.

Had lunch there last week and our party of 4 LOVED IT!! We had everything from catfish to steak and it was all fantastic!

Our only complaint was that the Salmon Sandwich wasn't very filling...small portion and an open-faced style. Would skip that in the future.

I voted yes...the only thing I did not like was my entree, which is the shrimp pasta that is no longer on the menu. The "Old" shrimp pasta (there is a new version on the menu now) was in an asian sauce that was way too salty and loaded with celery.

We ate there for lunch last Saturday (9/1)...it was our first time and I was nervous having read so many negative reviews before we left, however we loved it! It was one of our best meals all week plus Diver Bruce came over and sat with us and answered my kids questions regarding the fish and his job, we had a great server and the food was awesome..we'll definetly go back! :goodvibes

We ate there in January and it was GREAT. We had not been there in about five years because of a bad meal then. I was a little worried because we got a walk up but it was great. Food and service was fantastic.

We ate there 8/29/07 and it was the best meal we had on our trip. Enjoy!!

I really enjoyed it. We went for the first time in Feb.
We were in the first row of table "booths" and had a great view of the tank. A diver had come down while we were there to wish another guest Happy Birthday. I had the prime rib and crab slaw which I really liked. I also did not have the chocolate wave :confused3 but the creme brulee was great. My oldest son was very negative on trying it but he really enjoyed it. However, my husband who is not a seafood eater did not like it, but I think he was just trying to be difficult. :rolleyes1

I second-guessed our ADR for Coral Reef last fall after reading so many horrible reviews. Glad I kept the ADR because it was the best meal of our entire trip. In fact, it's the first place I booked for this year's trip!

Now Sci-Fi...that was another place I heard terrible reviews about and I really should have listened to those posters. UGH! Atmosphere was cool but the service was SO bad and the food was even worse. No way I'd ever go back there again.

We ate there twice and enjoyed it. The first time, we had the NY strip steak and it was cooked with a demi-glaze on it. It was wonderful. Remembering that, we ate there again although this time there was no demi-glaze on it at all. It still was a good steak although not as wonderful as the first time.

First time, we sat in the third tier of seats, the second time, right along the tank. The diver came and sat with us and we had a great time.

We liked it so much that this is where we're having Thanksgiving dinner this year...hopefully, with a steak WITH demi-glaze. ;)

Ate there Fri 8/31. We arrived early for our 2pm ressie as we were starving. Went to wash up and mom had to come get us as our pager went off right away. We smashed that amazing bread and all enjoyed our meal: crab claw and crab cake appertizers. Tilapia and bbq salmon entrees. Cheese cake and kids sundae for dessert. Kids meal was fresh apple slices (devoured) and cheese pizza (devoured), picked over sundae, but had fun in the process! The tanks were fun too 5yo was really excited by them. We were too early to see divers, but fun nonetheless. Icing on the cake was it poured raining while we were nice and dry at Coral Reef! That luck followed us all trip as we dodged the heavy rains.

Expect it on the list for the 2008 trip.

I've been going to WDW since '99....have about 15 trips under my belt. We/I had never eaten at Coral Reef before, so I decided to give it a shot. I do not eat seafood...well, other than shrimp cocktail. Dh loves it. We tried a few places we had never been to...Coral Reef, Chefs du France. We loved Coral Reef!! Even dd loved it and she eats only mac and cheese or cheeseburgers!! Dh had the catfish on grits and I had a steak. Both were excellent. In fact, dh said it was his favorite meal of the trip...well, until he got on the Wonder anyway. But he kept asking me why we hadn't gone there before.
Now...Chefs du France? Don't get me started on that one.
