Did you buy too many points initially?

And have you considered selling some? I recently saw some posts about resales and I was just wondering if some DVCers have shed some points.

My problem was VB - it would be great if we used it - but we didn't - I brought in because I wanted something different it was between VB and HH and I went with VB - I got free tickets out of it for several years so I can't complaint - but sometime I wish I just done an add on to OKW - there was some problem I don't remember what - why I didn't at that time do an add on to OKW.

and last year I brought another timeshare - this time on the Gulf side (the area I like) - so I am selling VB.

Not because of too many points - but because VB no longer fits my needs as well as it did then.

the new timeshare is not Disney or Marriott (although I looked at Marriott) - it is just on Panama City Beach (my nephew's choice) so it probably won't trade very well - but I didn't buy it to trade I brought it to use.

Although I'm sure some have sold off some points for financial or other reasons, I think you'll find that most of here are trying to find the means to add points. I base this on the many posts you'll see on this forum where folks are looking for additional points, usually smaller contracts.

DW and I are looking to add on a small contract at OKW as a matter of fact. We stayed there last year and loved the space. Our home is VWL and there just isn't the space there for when we bring family along.

Yes, I have too many points. I also have too much money, too much free time, too much excitement in my life and I don't pay enough in taxes!!!!

Your home state gave you away! How could there be anybody in the state of Mass who has too much money! It does not matter how much money we make in this state, it all goes to our extremely high cost of living expenses.

Although I love the area, my wallet pays a hefty price to stay here. Someday I will retire in Florida.

Since you can't divide up your contract, ridding yourself of "some" points is often difficult. Which is why, if you are buying a lot of points, it benefits you to buy two (or more) smaller contracts. For this reason, I suspect that many of those with "too many" points (if there is such a thing) rent their extra points.

Resales happen when people sell one (or more) of several contracts, or leave DVC all together.

I'm not single, married for 10 years.

Yes, the cost of living is high in Mass., but it's where the Red Sox play and this is our year!!

It's always the Red Sox year in Jan-June...Come about July, it will probably be the Yankees year. I am not a Yankee fan, but they do have the best roster money can buy!

My husband was a die hard red sox fan. At one time, I believe my husband thought that Yaz was god. However, the days of Yaz are gone. My husband has given up on the Red Sox and baseball altogether. He is so disgusted with the league. The threat of a strike last year, put him over the edge. He is now a die hard Patriots fan.

I bought 250 points in 1999, which is perfect right now. I wish I would have bought 150 and added 100 so I could sell off the 100 because I may not need all those points down the road.

I think a lot of resales come from folks who have major life changes. We've purchased two resales, one the result of dissolution of property for a divorce and another because of a "financial crisis" (we assume somebody lost a job when the economy started going south). Lots of them go up for sale when people who purchased for large families have the kids leave home (and said kids aren't interested in using the points), they decide they've visited WDW enough (horrors!), etc. There are as many reasons as there are people selling, I would guess.

We bought 150, then 25 initially at VWL, which now we wish wasn't our home. We added on at BCV, which we love, so now we have 275 points. For us, we feel that's too many points, also, we wish we had bought a resale at OKW instead of VWL. Maybe we will be renting some points down the road. However, the 275 points seems like too much at the moment-I can easily see our vacation needs expanding so that the 275 doesn't seem like "too much" very soon. Guess we'll wait and see how we feel a few months from now.

TOO MANY POINTS?????????????????

I've never heard of that affliction before!!! I just keep hoping money is going to drop down from the sky on one of Tinker Bell's flights from the castle and I can buy MORE, MORE, MORE!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Okay. I feel better now!

No im sorry I dont understand the question
Too many points????
No I dont get it.

Initially we bought over 200 at BWV... Thought that was adequate... (My DW thought it might be too much..)

But then... We stayed at VB, and absolutely loved it, and did an add on...

Now I'm thinking it might be time for more points.. Family is getting bigger, and room sizes need to be larger...

So, to answer your question.... Yes at first we did, but now... We are hooked and want more...

ROFLMAO.....................................................there can never be enough points !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

There's no such thing as to many points. O'k I got DVC fever(lol).
