Did you buy Sketchers Shape ups? They owe you $!

I sent them pictures of my shoes. I don't keep my receipts past a year. I am not expecting much lol:lmao:

I'll take pics of mine too and just send that. I've always regretted buying these...at least they were on sale ;) They really hurt my back but I do not have any foot problems like others of you are mentioning. I'm glad they work well for you!

Thin, flat shoes bother my knees and back even more than anything else. I could never wear anything like that.

I've been wearing shape-ups for 4 years now and have never had anymore plantar problems. I no longer where the ones with the extra thick sole, but have the Skechers Shape-Ups Radius now and I love them. So comfy!

The "Radius" still has an extraneously thick sole. The reason that plantar problems don't present while you're wearing them is because it relives the foot from having to support itself - weakening the structure. Ultimately it will cause a lot more harm than good when the "toning" shoes are no longer enough support. I can't explain how vehemently bad these shoes are for anybody's feet by their design.

There is an adjustment period in to "barefoot" style shoes, but it ultimately will strengthen your whole leg and posture structure. It was the best thing I ever did for my PF. But you're still better off wearing a pair of regular sneakers than Shape-ups or any of the related crap.

It says that you don't need to submit the proof unless your total expected reimbursement is over $200. That would be several pairs of shoes. If you are only claiming for 1, you wouldn't need the proof.

My dh bought 2 pairs of the men's sandals and more surprising we had the receipt. We should have returned them, he didn't like them and the second pr is still in the box. He wore the first pair at Disney :confused3: :rotfl2: :rolleyes1

Filed for the settlement. The site is VERY slow so just try to load the next step walk away and come back when it loads.

I stick to NB or my Crocs!

I saw that but I guess didn't read it right. I actually bought 2 pairs, both tone-ups, and one pair is still in the box. I even found my receipts so I just submitted pictures of those and the shoes/boxes. Not expecting much. But I've never joined one of these type suits before either so maybe I'll be surprised. I just remember reading about one of these big lawsuits once on a deals site. Everybody hopped on and filed a claim and people received checks for like 27 cents :rotfl2:

CathrynRose, totally off topic but the pink halter top you are wearing in your sig line is sooooo cute! Exactly like what I've been looking for. May I ask where you got it?

It's actually a Maxi Dress. It's cute, right? I love it.

I got it last summer though, at Von Maur.

I think it's more a penalty for false advertising than a refund.

I understand - but if you like them ??? Y'know? :confused3

Because the company lied. The shoes do not shape up any thing and do not help ou to lose weight.

LOL. didn't we use to call people that would sell you some thing that didn't work or do what it promised "snake oil" salesmen? Use to sell you tonic in a bottle that would cure your baldness. Might of tasted great and you may have liked it but it certainly didn't grown hair. pretty much reminds me of the same thing.

Well, that's fine. Then send them your shoes back, too. I personally think it's crappy to expect a refund on something you use and like.

And frankly, anyone that believes that a shoe will thin you out is more foolish than the person snake-oiling you. JMHO, of course.

I never did much research on these shoes...just bought a couple of pairs when I found them on sale...but I don't know that they really sold them as a way to lose weight but rather that wearing them used different muscles than we normally use so they toned your legs and rear. I exercise pretty regularly but I thought "sure, I'll wear them around the house or even out and get even more of a work-out". Unfortunately, not only has that claim by the company been proven to be false but there are many (including myself) who experience pain from wearing these shoes. I would never have bought them had the company not made the claims they did and if they want them back, I am more than happy to give them back.

I absolutely agree 100% with you though that if someone loves and wears these shoes, they shouldn't be looking for compensation :thumbsup2

I have a few pair, the toners , clog ones helped my foot. The other ones bother me. I am not going to file a claim. I new it wouldnt work for the weight loss or toning. but I wish I would have bought more toners. they no longer sell them.

I bought shape-ups but not because of their claims to help you lose weight. These are the only shoes I can wear comfortably. I have plantar fasciitis in both feet and any other shoe is just agony to walk-in. I have 5 pairs.

Same here -- I too have plantar faciitis and I found the shape ups to be very comfortable. I think it is fair to get a refund because of the false advertising.

Thanks OP! Me and fiance both have a pair of shapeups and hate them. I have multiple pair of the flip flops though and love them.

I have 2 pairs-just sitting there in my closet cause the only thing they did for me was to mess up my knees according to my ortho:sad:-I submitted my form w/out proof also so I'll see what happens:hourglass

I have PF and while I liked the padding in them, I so regretted the purchase. It actually ended up causing me more issues with my knee.

ETA: I did not buy the for their "shaping up" claims but because when I tried them on I thought they were comfortable because of the padding. That comfort was nice but the end result of pain in my knee was not worth it.

I submitted a claim for 4. I bought 5 shoes, still have 3 of them, but only receipts for 2 or 3. I submitted without proof of purchase (who keeps receipts that long?!) The only reason why I have some receipts is b/c some were purchased online. So, I can probably go find them.

I have a pair that I wear quite a bit. But I got them because they were comfy, not because I believed their claims. I'm dating myself but anyone remember Dr. Scholl's exercise sandals that were popular back in the 70's? They made the same claims and it was nonsense then too.

Since I never believed the claims in the first place, I don't feel ripped off. So I don't plan on putting my name in for a refund.

:thumbsup2 My thoughts exactly. I cant believe how many people really thought these shoes would thin them out.

The final court date for approval to pay the claims isn't until March 13, 2013, so no one will see their settlements until after that date.

I can't get the claim or form to work, it just keeps crashing my computer. Ugh. I wear these shoes for work, I have bought about 10 pairs. I had to stop wearing them due to plantar fascitis, but I used to like them. My Doctor told me they were making my PF worse and to switch to hard bottom New Balance, and since I did, no more PF.
