Did what i had to do

I just got off the phone with reservations to Disney and cancelled my trip. The gulit of me going with my dad being so old was making me have many restless nights and losing weight rapidly. I know in my heart I did the right thing but why am I so unhappy about not going to my favorite place at Christmas?

Oh Gail here's a for you! You had such a difficult decision to make and so many pros and cons on each side. I think you would have good and bad feelings about going to WDW OR staying at home with your father.

Some choices in life are not easy or fair. You just have to listen to your heart and do the best you can. Make the most of this holiday season at home. Try to find the joy. You might want to put up a few extra Disney decorations - if you can't get to WDW, maybe you should bring a little WDW to you! I got all the materials to make a Mickey shaped wreath this weekend.

We don't know how long our loved ones will be here! Put those Disney decorations up, and you can take your trip another time.

Like someone said...there was really only one right choice here and let's face it you seem to have made it. It may not seem that way now, but later it will sink in. WDW will be there when you can get back to make happy memories that seem to fuel your desire to get back. Those memories undoubtedly include your father on some past trips. He may be unable to go and this seems to be the end of something that has been a part of family tradition perhaps. You may be upset more at the loss of the tradition than the actual cancellation of the trip. This Christmas make it special with your father at home and try to remember that he will not always be around in person even though he will always be with you in your heart.

Yes, you did what was right for you, followed your instincts. We women have to trust that 6th sense we have, it's always right! There IS a reason for this, as there is in all things. If you don't know what that reason is right now, it will become apparent to you down the road. Your father is a lucky man. Hugs to you.
