Our choice for this trip was based on DH's vacation availability so I couldn't plan around school/AP schedule, but I'm hopeful we'll have less-than-crazy crowds tomorrow 8/15-Sun 8/19. Some kids back to school, plus lower level APs blocked -- good, right?
If you see me following DS 8 as he jumps over the cars on California Screamin' after he decides he's not ready to try it after all, say Hi!

Today wasn't too bad at the parks crowd wise. But it was hotter than heck. Hopefully this heat will break for our second and final day tomorrow.

We went on the 5th, 8th, 11th and 13th and it was the least crowded on the 13th. I hope you picked a good week because we are heading back on Thursday!

Have fun! :goodvibes

Thanks canadianminniemouse -- hope your return trip is great!
Thanks to all for the heads up on the heat; lots of free space in the suitcase now that I removed all but one sweatshirt for each of us :)

We just got back from 10 days in So.Cal. and unfortunately, it' been at or above 100 most days at the parks. The heat wave is the top story on all the local news channels.

It was a big disappointment for us as we were hoping for 80's as well, but were dripping with sweat by noon each day. The good news, it was unusually easy to convince my family to take afternoon breaks at the hotel...
;)

Great! We're over 100 here so high 80s will be lovely!

Yeah it was pretty hot. Being from Vegas it didn't bother us that much, the humidity wasn't fun through. All day I looked like I just walked off of Splash Mountain with my sweaty shirt. It felt like the AC wasn't able to keep up with the heat on some of the dark rides, or they just turned the AC down as to not strain the power grid.

Crowds were moderate, but it wasn't unbearable.

They may have turned the AC down due to the strain on the power grid, as we have been told many times on the news that they're afraid of it being too much for the grid. I really hope that we don't end up having rolling black outs again. :(
