My 16 yr old DS just texted me a big thanks and a smilie face for "caring enough about me to help him with his school work".

My 22 yr old DD (who always disagrees with everything I say) just told me I "was awesome".

So..... did the world end? Am I in a parallel universe?????:cool1:

My first reaction to questions like is: What did they do that you don't know about yet? :rotfl:

You've been drinking in the afternoons again haven't you?

Those kids are plotting something evil. I'd watch my back if I were you.

YAY you! Sounds like they may have started to listen to their friends' talk about their own families. Nothing shines a spotlight on good parenting like another kid noticing how nice it is at your house.

...or maybe it's finally clicked!:yay:
Seems like I have quite a few years to go...

well, I guess I left the cider in the (hic) refrig too long.... must have been those pesky aliens..... :rotfl2:

If your husband starts picking up his socks....be afraid....be very afraid....

That's exactly how I felt last week when my DD 17 texted me to thank me for volunteering at her Senior Picnic. I thought she'd be mortified that I was THERE...a thank you and a smiley face?? Priceless!

Last week my 16 yr old DD got up from a nap on our sofa and was incredibly pleasant. She even hugged my DH.

I asked her what had happened, why she was being nice and she said that she had finally caught up on sleep from the past few years.

I decided to enjoy it while I could. It ended today when I found her Ipod that was taken as punishment 2 weeks ago (until her room was clean) in her bookbag.

Now she has lost it for the remainder of this week and I will be enjoying it on the train to work. Although I don't know 90% of the groups she has on it.

I am most disappointed that she wasn't smart enough to put it back each night and take it in the morning so we wouldn't notice! That is what I would have done.
