Did the BTMRR Refirb get canceled?

BTMRR was closed 2-3 years ago for several months to redo the track. Unless a problem has popped up I wouldn't expect that to be done again for a long time. It was at that time that they seemed to just completely end any of the shaking rocks in the final climb.

Correct. This refurb is for general maintenance and the effects upgrades.

Ugh... just seeing this. BTM is my DD's favorite ride out of all four parks. It's the only one she wants to ride over and over again. How to tell her. Hopefully she'll be so excited just to be back at WDW that it will lessen the blow.

If it is set to open on the 15th-16th my guess is soft openings the entire week before which is good because that is when we will be there. I know the whole new track took forever and i love the new track but I can't wait for it to get the DL effects treatment which is what this refurb is for.

We rode this in Oct 2015, and whilst it was brilliant, seeing the DL effects on the videos make me realise what they COULD do to make it more immersive. The explosion effect is super cool. Is that the idea? Close it to give it these effects?

We are back in Sept/Oct 2016 so I hope so!

That's what I've heard, that it's getting DL-style effects. Don't quote me on that of course, but that's the current assumption.

Sad that it will be closed in April, but glad we're sneaking in a short trip in February. I'll grab it one more time on that trip and just be sad about it in April! One of my childhood favorites!

This has been pushed back until August 8th now through to November, so disappointed it'll be closed while we're there in August!

We were there end of March 2012 and it was closed. Glad we will get to finally ride it, was getting worried they were going to push it back into our October trip this year.

So much for that idea. If the rumor is true we are destined to never be able to ride BTMR at Disney World.

Disney took it off their website too! When I looked back in early Jan and put my May dates in on the BTMR page it said it was in refurb those days, now it gives hours! I can't tell you how happy I am!

But I'm afraid to hope this true. They have been back and forth so many times on this refurb. If I had to bet, I'd say this is because the Frozrn ride is delayed and other things aren't open yet and they want to raise the ticket price and so many things are closed this spring. Either that or it's in line with other cuts going on right now.

Wow, just wow. I have been mourning BTMR in particular for this trip (sad about Soarin but at least I knew that one when I booked). Sorry for anyone else who's trip might now be in this refurb path.

Hoping it will be open when we go in May. But who knows why it's not on Disney's website, deleted in error perhaps?
Anyways, I will believe it will be open when I'm able to book our FP+s for it next month!

I'm with you. Will all the attractions closing, and the Frozen ride pushed back, I was starting to rethink our trip. BTMRR is a huge favorite of ours, as well as Soarin'. If this is true it makes me so happy!!!

No no!! We are one of the ones that hope it continues as originally scheduled, because our trip is in September. And, this is my 5 year old daughter's favorite ride!!! This will be a HUGE bummer if it's closed in Sept!

I'm in the minority here, but I was hoping they would stick to the refurb schedule of April-July because we are going at the end of September. Now I am worried that they will push it back and it will be refurbed while we are there. It is my 5 year old daughters favorite ride and I would hate for it to be down while we are there.

You are not in the minority...I was hoping as well. I will be there end of September also and really want to see those updates like the ones in Disneyland. Also I hope they do something with the cars...my 6'3" boyfriend has an issue with his knees hitting the front of the car during the whole ride! lol
