Did the B-day Fast Pass today. Updated with PIC's 1-5.

I will be at DHS on the 19th for my DS's 14th bday. We have our tix already and was going to do the Fastpass option (there are six of us). Now I am reconsidering. Being that it is a holiday not sure what to do. We have our registration all printed out. Do you just go to Guest Services? Did the Birthday button yield any suprises?

Just wondering what the process is.

We went to will call. Why would a holiday matter?

I realized that after I went to bed last night and was telling my husband about this thread. I still don't think even 8 fast passes in exchange for $75 is a good deal, especially when some are likely to be good for rides I don't care about.

I still don't think it is fair for one person to get 4 FP for their birthday (if there alone) and another to get 48.

It's not $75 cash-it can only be used for merchandise I believe. Regardless if you would rather get a sweatshirt and mug (or whatever) than 8 passes-then that's what you should do-simple. Also that is 8 passes you chose not to use-may as well go to a party that wants them. Fair? Cant really say, some may get 60-that's not fair to those of us that got 48. What about the original estimated 24 instead of 4-is that fair? You also could consider what revenue a party of 12 will bring into WDW compared to a party of 2. Pretty sure Disney would rather you call up 10 family members and bring them down, and give you 48 FP's for one day. I figure the extra 40 FP's in our group brought in at least $4000 or $100 per FP. I only reported what Disney forced us into. I was not about to lie to them when asked a direct question.

OK did AK today. Pick 2 from EE and Safari and 2 from Dino/Bugs/Kalhi. Also found out we could do 2 EE (had done Safari the other day). We also received 12 cards (how many are in the group). So it was 48 each day for us. I think bigger groups on busy days its pretty good. We arrived both days at 11AM and had no wait for a lot of major rides-especially after doing some regular FP's as well. We would do it again-$75 or 48 FP's?

Did you have more than 1 person celebrating his/her birthday in your group? Just curious since you were able to do the birthday FP at more than 1 park.

Yes, we had one on 1/1 and one on 1/2.

Lucky!!! My sister and I are going to go for her birthday in May. We're already AP holders, so we were thinking of choosing the FP. I was thinking of choosing MK. Any idea what the FP choices are for MK are?

I've updated my Fastpass page for the Birthday Fastpass - you can get to it from the link in my signature. The only park I haven't seen anything for yet is Epcot.

Edit: Oops...forgot to put the update in place...its there now.

Thought it might be busier on that day, thus the fast pass being a good option.

I see, and agree. The other day Soarin was 5 hours, this would be up to passes each instantly.

Checked EPCOT today and its is 2 from TT and Soarin, and 2 each from MS/Shrunk, Maelstrom, Land.

Just want to clarify that bold section. I assume you mean its still two total for that list - and it's Mission: Space and Shrunk separately, correct?

I was reflecting on this thread and how in the past a person born on a major holiday (like Christmas or New Years) might have had their birthday overlooked. And now finally it pays off big time with the FPes! ;)

Thanks Doc for your website. Very informative. Do you know where you go to pick up the card that will give you the birthday Fastpasses? Is it Guest Services at the entrance of the theme parks?

You need to register online first I believe on the www.disneyworld.com web site. You will print a confirmation sheet, and you bring that and ID with you to the "designated Will Call windows" at the park - I'm actually not sure if that means the regular ticket booths, the Guest Services windows, or special windows marked specifically for this.

Think about the revenue Disney gets from larger groups. You bring two total people and another group is made up fof 12. $$$$. They are not excluding, they are trying to make everyone in the group happier by doing so. Solution-you bring more folks and you should be satified, right!

You do not have to register first. It will just save you some time when you go to the Will Call window (less paperwork to fill out.)

Four fastpasses may not sound like much, but if I understand correctly these are over and above the fastpasses you can receive on your park ticket. Between the two, that's really all the fastpasses anyone really needs in a day.

Yes, we used regular FP as well. It was more than needed really, but this way you can start your day a little later and get a lot done.

Sorry, just got back to -6 tonight. It must have been mid 80's there-just perfect.

Yea I was not very clear there. Each person can pick 2 from the first group of Soarin and TT, then 2 more from the next group of 4. If someone really likes Soarin-this may be a good choice. We really dont so we would never pick EPCOT (even though we like TT), the second group is pretty weak as well.

Agreed. Very high return for a few extra FP's.
