Did the B-day Fast Pass today. Updated with PIC's 1-5.

OK did AK today. Pick 2 from EE and Safari and 2 from Dino/Bugs/Kalhi. Also found out we could do 2 EE (had done Safari the other day). We also received 12 cards (how many are in the group). So it was 48 each day for us. I think bigger groups on busy days its pretty good. We arrived both days at 11AM and had no wait for a lot of major rides-especially after doing some regular FP's as well. We would do it again-$75 or 48 FP's?

By the way, we had 12 left tonight (some in the group dont like big rides) so DD and I did EE 6 time each in 1 hour (it was a 90 min wait when we started). :thumbsup2

How did you swing TWELVE passes? Were there two birthdays in your group? Twins? Or did they just give more for a grand gathering or something?

Both days they asked how many were in the party-we all (12 of us) had to be there and have our park passes.

Can you explain the 12 cards?

We will be at MK on 2/3 my DN's 5th Bday. There are 7 in our group. Would we each get two FPs? I thought the best option for her would be the merchandise credit. Maybe the FPs would be worth it if the whole group gets them.

The official rules say for the birthday person and up to 5 additional people in their party: +The number of birthday FASTPASS badges issued is limited and may not be available after 11am. Valid Theme Park admission required. FASTPASS for birthday celebrant and up to 5 members of his/her party.

Maybe the CMs just didn't know what they were doing yet with a party your size?

Arriving that late could also have meant that you wouldn't have gotten the fast past option at all according to the official rules/FAQ.

I'm not at all happy with someone being able to get 48 FP's when DH and I will be ble to get 8 (foureach for DH and me) for my birthday. I'd take the 48 FP's in a heartbeat rather thanthe $75! But $75 for 8 of them? Nope, I don't think so.

Ok I really don't get it now:confused3 I thought your group got unlimited fastpasses for "certain attractions" that day? Now you only get two per person and they limit it to only a few rides?

Another question.......we are going in June and the 3rd day there it is my son's birthday. Can I use the DVC AP discount and also use the free admision ticket for him towards an AP? Or is it just one or the other?

You should have no problem in using the free ticket towards the DVC AP.

Yes, we made sure to arrive at 11 so there would be no issues. You would get 8 for the 2 of you.

Disney never qualified how the Fastpasses were to be handled. I don't think anyone assumed there would be "unlimited" Fastpasses - best guess was that it would be like the Dream Fastpass - one FP for each FP attraction - but that is apparently not true.

It is also FOUR per person, two per attraction group.

I corrected my post. It's actually 4 per person but limited to certain rides. You can't use all 4 for the same ride, in other words.

I think you're out of luck on using the free admission ticket towards an AP because you can't actually get the ticket until your son's birthday.

I realized that after I went to bed last night and was telling my husband about this thread. I still don't think even 8 fast passes in exchange for $75 is a good deal, especially when some are likely to be good for rides I don't care about.

I still don't think it is fair for one person to get 4 FP for their birthday (if there alone) and another to get 48.

Well, technically, they are ENTITLED to 4 per person in their group, although it is supposed to be limited to 6. Perhaps they had given out so few by 11am they were willing to give out more.

Whether each person in the group uses them themselves, or they are given to a single person is irrelevant. It is no different than regular FPs. My family can get 4 FPs at any attraction. Anyone in my family can use the 4.

Yes, technically they are "not transferable", but Disney does not care to that level - that is legalese to try to prevent a black market for them (with limited success).

I will be at DHS on the 19th for my DS's 14th bday. We have our tix already and was going to do the Fastpass option (there are six of us). Now I am reconsidering. Being that it is a holiday not sure what to do. We have our registration all printed out. Do you just go to Guest Services? Did the Birthday button yield any suprises?

Just wondering what the process is.

You will have to sit down and do the math to figure out which way is better, but, you could do this:

Buy a 2 day ticket for your son. On the third day (his birthday), use his free admission to go towards his AP.

I don't believe you can use the DVC discount on top of that as I don't think discounts can be combined, but I don't know anything about DVC so that may be something special.

You get $100 off the price of an AP as a DVC owner. I'm thinking of some creative ways to bring the price down, I have until June so I hope someone will figure it out and post:teacher:

My youngest DS also has a March 24th birthday.:thumbsup2

That is wonderful!

Just curious...Is he good at math?

I'm wondering if we should start a birthday thread for FPs. I think it would be pretty cool to find people going during the same week with a birthday and touring together, or at least hanging out long enough to get the fastpasses.
