Did Southwest fares really sell quickly this morning?

I have been watching for Southwest fares since our trip is December 26-January 8. Well, of course today was the one day I didn't check the website until just now. I am kicking myself. I went to southwest.com and already the internet specials and fun fares are gone! Did these fares really sell out that quickly? That is shocking! I went ahead and booked with Southwest, but it was kind of a bummer that all the cheaper flights were gone and it is only 3:00. If the fun fares had been available we would have paid $160 for our tickets, we paid $240 and it was still the best deal I could find anywhere. Traveling during the holidays means expensive flights!

They went crazy fast! I've been checking everyday, even checked this morning around 10. By time I got there at around 2:30, Christmas week was going fast.

The price I got wasn't great, but it's better than USAir's prices.

That is so crazy! I just can't believe that. Since we are traveling around Christmas and New Year's I will count myself lucky to have gotten flights for $240.

Also around busy times the internet fares aren't even released for people to purchase. They're not made available if that makes sense. Thats why it says unavailable bc they were never available at that price. But SW does also sell out fast around busy travel times.

That definitely makes sense. I would think that for our flight on the December 26th there wouldn't have been internet fares.
