Did not use fast pass +

We were there last Tuesday for the Fast Pass+ and did not use it because everything was almost no wait. We did not have the passes in hand so we had to go to the Town Hall and waited there 20-25 min. and never got the passes. We had a one day reservation at the end of our trip which was Sept 18. Left home before we got them in the mail. I voiced my displeasure to the CM's overseeing the whole operation. Our first chosen fast pass window was already slipping away while waiting in line. So glad we did not spend anymore time in that line because everything was a walk on including Splash and Big Thunder. The rain in the afternoon was heavy but not too long. Made a last minute reservation for lunch in the park at Tony's Town Square via My Disney Experience app. (very convenient) Hope this works as well when the parks are a little more crowded.
Can't wait for our December trip with our grandchildren!:cool1:

We were included in the program for fast pass + that went on last week. I picked 4 different rides but never used the fast passes.

My 2 sisters and son used Fastpass plus on Saturday, Sept 22.

We were picked also to use the program last week. I picked afternoon times for the 4 rides last Thursday 9/20 and we never used them either.

PrincessP: We were in the Magic Kingdom on Tuesday last week as well, had the Fast Pass + for Dumbo, spent the time inthe vestibule of the bathrooms at the train station durring the downpour!!!

Hmmm....out of 5 people reporting so far, 4 of them didn't use their FP+. Interesting.

Thanks for the reports!

I used two of my four FP+. The one for fireworks was awesome. One I didnt use cuz I had already walked onto the ride twice in the morning and didnt want to walk across the park to ride again in the aftenoon. Another i didnt use because I ran out of time. It was too close to the parade to try to reschedule the FP+.

An earlier poster inquired about pulling regular FPs. Yes, I was able to get them even though I had FP+.

I thougt the system was ok. Did require a lot of planning out the day well ahead of time which was hit and miss in my case.

It's funny we were there the same time. We started on the Astro Orbitor, got one reveolution around, then BOOM the thunder hit, and down we went! It was funny. Shortest AstroOrbiter ever!

Astro Orbiter was our first ride AFTER the thunder ceased. lol We did Buzz a couple of times, Space Mtn a couple, TTA, Carousel of Progress....it was nearly a couple of hours we were in Tomorrow land, I think. Was the train running during the thunder/downpour?

The train does not run during a lightening storm. We were at the train station in Fantasyland when a storm came on and they asked everyone to leave the platform and take cover.

It wasn't an option for my son and sisters when they tried to choose that experience (fireworks or parade). Since a parade or fireworks would only be offered once a day, it would make sense that there would be fewer slots available so those slots were taken before my sister got on-line to select her desired experiences. But from what I have read, there is a reserved area for the people that hold a fastpass to view the fireworks or parade.

Count us in on not using Fast Pass +. We were there are rope drop and went on all of the rides we had the pass for. May have used them later on in the day as 2 of them were for after lunch but we left the park to take a rest.

Didn't you start this thread and say that in the first post? No offense but I keep thinking of Tom Hanks as Mr Short Term memory on SNL. :rotfl:

It seems a little silly to me for them to be testing FP+ during the lightest crowds of the year, unless this was more of a technology test. Wishful thinking that they do some testing again next month...;)

I thought the same thing. Our longest wait at any park last week was 25 minutes for Soarin. We never waited longer than 10 for anything else.

But maybe the real test is to see how people will be able to keep appointments and how many will give up. This is crucial in how system will actually adapt and how many will stay/move onsite to participate.

I wish they'd adjust the fastpass/standby merge points a little bit so fastpass users only had to wait a minute or two max.
That's never, ever been the purpose or intent of FastPass. You're expecting, in effect, front of the line access. Only Wish Trip guests get that. Is there even a continuous loading attraction with FastPass, other than Peter Pan? Even Buzz Lightyear can be stopped for accessibility.

Good point. For us it seems hard to make plans ahead of time as to which rides we want to go on, especially with 4 young children. I think the concept sounds good but it will be interesting to see how many people can stick to using it.

But during a slow time, they're not going to know how many people weren't able to keep appointments or gave up, vs people who just walked into the standby line because there's no waits. I think a true measure of how many FP+s will be used can only be made when FP is an actual benefit to a parkgoer.

What's wrong with keeping FP users' waiting in line to a minimum? :confused3 They've already waited for their FP window to open up.

I just don't see why it's necessary to make FP riders wait in line for 15 minutes, especially when the standby line is very short as well (<30 minutes). I would use morning FastPasses more often if they saved more time. I'm sure baby-swap users would appreciate it, too.

We didn't use out Fastpass+ passes either. :(
The times they gave us were all late afternoon/evening and we were wiped out by that time and headed back to our room for a rest. It was an EMH night so we went back to MK around 8:00pm and missed all our FP+ times.

According to WDWNewsToday, FASTPASS+ "kiosks" or scanners have been installed at the entrance to Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and Turtle Talk with Crush.

I'm starting to think we will definitely see FP+ officially rolled out in the first half of 2013.

One question for those still their now. With the MK test concluded, are the scanners or "kiosks" still at the attractions at MK? Be on the lookout as they are starting to appear everywhere! Thanks!

Well, they can't completely shut down the standby line. Some people have to be getting throug there. And when you do the math on the added capacity, there just isn't an alterative.

It might be that late afternoon FP+ times will be the best to have just since some people will have ditched their reservation times in favor of time off their feet back at the resort.

As I've said before..... if you're at Dinsey when you NEED a FP for attractions like these........ you'e at Disney at the wrong time.
