Did Le Cellier steaks shrink?

Granted, I suspect I have the eyeball measuring ability of 2 year old, but I noticed something a while back that I noted again while looking at food pics. It almost seems like the mushroom filet has shrunk by half. Or am I a lunatic with a bad bad memory. We ate a Le Cellier in January 2006, and I would swear that we had a fairly large filet -- I want to say it was more circular and quite tall (I distinctly remember cutting into it and it taking a while to hit the bottom ;) ) But the filets I keep seeing in pics are almost triangular and, well, itty bitty.

Have I lost my mind or did they really slash the size of these things?

i agree with you! finally someone else notices too! my whole family thought i was insane! but yeah, i too have the measuring ability of a 2 year old, so who knows. but, i thought the same thing!
i dont have any pictures, but yeah i so agree!

Okay, well, the 1/08 menu here on the DIS shows a five ounce filet at lunch, and a seven ounce filet at dinner, and doesn't provide a weight for the dinner menu's mushroom filet. I suppose the next DISer to dine there could ask what the starting weight is on that one - and post the information here.

Now, I realize all weights are before cooking - but a seven ounce filet is always a seven ounce filet. The only weight/size difference would result from different degrees of doneness - a well-done steak would end up smaller than a medium rare one.
