Did Jersey Week Change?

I had originally read here that Jersey week was to be the first week of November. Then I read that it is going to be the 2nd week of November this year. Can anyone clarify this? We want to go when it will be the least crowded of the two weeks. THANKS!

The NJ teacher conventions are Nov. 10 & 11th this year...making Jersey week typically run from 11.6 - 11.12, especially with Election Day being Tuesday of that week.

The NJ Teachers' Convention is usually held the same week as Election Day. This year, it will be held November 10- 11. Lots of NJ families take the whole week off to go to WDW, since most schools close for Election Day, the two days of the Convention, and have 1/2 days the rest of the week for parent/teacher conferences. So expect the week of November 6- 12 to be when the NJ folks are in abundance.

You will also have Veterens' Day and Super Soap Weekend to contend with then. Even with Halloween crowds, the week of October 30- November 5 should be slower.

In our area of southern NJ elementary schools are closed for the entire week this year. That's based on election day being Tuesday of that week and not worth it to have kids/teachers go to school only on Monday& Wed. of that week. The high school kids only have off on Thurs. & Fri. that week.

I've been during Jersey Week before. I was very worried that the crowds were going to be huge. It wasn't bad at all. W/ Soap Weekend being the same time I may try to hit MGM early in a trip, but I think that will be the only really crowded location.
