Did I Settle? Christmas Gift Related

Daxx's Wife here. Just got back from the video store and dollar store -- video store to get gift cards to rent dvd's, videos, games and at the dollar store to get movie candy, bowls and popcorn.

I have decided to give my aid (I'm a teacher), a family friend and my work Secret Santa movie baskets using the above mentioned items.

Daxx says that, b/c went w/the movie basket idea, and I got these at the last minute, that I gave in. Meaning that I didn't put much thought/effort/creativity into the gift and settled. I say that it's a darn nice gift regardless of when I bought the stuff.

So, did I give in? I don't feel like I gave in for my aid or for my work Secret Santa ... but I kind of feel like I gave in for the family friend. Thoughts, please!!!!

i think it is a great idea.. I have often givin these as gifts and everyone loves them!! you did great!!

If he doesn't like the economical and nice gifts that you purchased, you can remind him that www.tiffany.com can expedite shipping so you can buy them expensive... and thoughtful... gifts.

If he's like my DH, he should just be happy that you did most of the Christmas shopping for the entire family.

I think it is an excellent gift and it doesn't matter when it is bought.

I think it's a great gift and I don't think you gave in. Some people are just hard to get for and this point I am in a panic mood. You just have to have it done. You had to put it all together and that took thought and time. I say it's a great idea and I'd like to get something like that from my students.

That's the gift that I gave all of my DD's & DS's teachers/support staff (there are 10). While I'm sure nobody would tell me if they didn't like it, they all seemed genuinely pleased.

Now you have me worried. I bought a holiday bucket at Rag Shop and filled it with a gift card from Blockbuster and bags of popcorn and Reese's Peanut Butter cups. It was for my co-worker who rents movies several times a week.

Nice gift, and it's thoughtful as you have to put all of the stuff together in a "basket". My husband thinks gift certificates are a poor gift but I love gettng them, much rather have a gc I can use than a gift I can't use or don't like.
